Map Files Downloading/decomposing..

so i bought this game today, and i am excited to start playing. but everytime i try to load the first map it has to decompose thousands of files, and it does it 1 by 1, i waited around a half hour and it only did 50 out of a mere 13650+ .
Any solutions to get past this or to speed it up?

system spec's

AMD Athlon 64 Processor 4000+ 2.41ghz
4g of ram
don't know any of the rest but i know its well past the games Recommended.

The client downloads all the files for the respective map, and since you're playing for the first time, there will be alot to download.

Use the -image command to download all the files for GW. Depending on your internet connection, this can take several hours before it's done. Once it's finished, you won't experience the long waits and downloads.

Yeah, unless you've got a really horrid internet connection, it shouldn't take more then 1 or 2 hours to do the -image command. Even so, if you've only loaded .05% of one area in 30 minutes, are you perhaps on Dial - up? :S
