Hi

I would like to know if there are compatibility issues between spybots S&D and Adaware (the free edition)

Thanks

No, Ad-Aware Free and Spybot S and D work perfectly together.

About Spybot: Turn of the tea-timer (go to options)
Also those 2 won't protect you computer very good. Get an antivirus and a firewall.

For Antivirus, i suggest Avira (lightweight, uses little resources, and it has good detection rate, be sure to download free version not premium one)
You can also take Avast Antivirus free: Also a good antivirus.

For Firewall: COMODO firewall is nice. However, if you're a novice, it might prove difficulties using it.

You might want to get some programs: SUPERantispyware, Malwarebytes anti malware.

These are good programs.

Don't run these programs all at one ofc.

There are a lot of features only available in Avira premium edition, like a firewall and a game-mode. As for COMODO firewall, it is ok for a 32bit system. If you are using a 64bit system don't bother with it.
As for Avast Antivirus - the detection rate has dropped recently. They seem to have fallen way behind the curve.

Recently - due to some viruses getting by Avast, I moved to Avira Premium for all of the computers on my network. Yeah it was a pain to pay for it but I need one that works and Avast just was not cutting it anymore. I really liked the interface.

I used to have Adware and I was not very happy with it.. I currently use Avast and have been more than pleased with it. Avira is good, AVG is pretty good too imo...
