I've just gotten a funny feeling that the improvements to storage are probably going to be something like all of your storage slots will appear on one screen instead of several.
I doubt it'll be book storage because books can have multiple versions based on how much you've filled out on them, which would be similar to the problems with armor storage.

i'm quite offended that you think i would troll these forums. i'm also quite offended that you think my female warrior could be knocked over by a wind [[gust] or a [[gale]. my warrior is in fact quite brave and strong.

Mission/Dungeon books could be stored in the *quest log* instead of taking inventory slots. They're character-based anyway and just track progress like quest entries with multiple objectives do.
Only obstacles that could appear are: quest entries may not be able to hold as much as 18 variable bits of data, and obvious one - this way of recording progress wouldn't allow having multiple copies of the same book (if you want more than 1 of identical book you'd have to keep in an inventory slot).
And for something completely different:
Was Ursan better than having no PuGs at all? Debatable. I'm 50/50 on it now, I really really miss multiplayer, but Ursan wasn't any fun for me to play.
Human played characters can already be significantly more powerful than heroes, there's a lot of imba PvE skills and builds heroes aren't good at playing, but the game lacks a way for people to find each other and form groups. I consider a worldwide LFG system to be single most important thing PvE needs, above extra storage or better trading systems.

STORAGE
Tome storage == possible and fairly easy to implement since tomes have static attributes. May actually save anet server space in the long run. Tome trader == would be nice, but unlikely. Mod storage == difficult to implement in a way that saves space since mods do not have static attributes. Mod trader == would be awesome, but unlikely. Armor storage == even harder then Mod. "Smart armor" system == a godly great idea that will never, ever, happen. Bigger bags == awesome and always welcome. SKILLS Skill nerfs == some dervish and necro shit out there is long overdue for nerfs. But will likely be buffed instead for reasons only the flying spaghetti monster knows why. Skill buffs == another round of "crappy elite buffs" as there are still plenty out there. *cough* [amity]. Seems very likely to happen again ( going by patterns here ) TROLLBUILDS Will continue to be made |
My understanding is that the armor would 'remember' what runes and inscriptions have been on it. This way, if you are using FoW armor for a word build with Survivor insignias and a Superior Rune for PvE, but want to switch to a Hammer build with Sentinals for PvP, you only need to have had the appropriate runes/inscriptions placed on the armor once.
So if you currently have 5 Survivor Insigias, 1 Superior Vigor, 1 Superior Absorption, 1 Superior Sword, 1 Minor Strength, and 1 Vitae rune, you can replace those with 1 Stonefist, 4 Sentinals, 1 Minor Hammer, 1 Clarity and leave the Vigor, Strength, and Vitae. This will allow the first set to be 'remembered' so you can simlpy right click the armor in the inventory screen and select those Sword build runes/insignias to be replaced.
The problem with this is it cuts into the cost of runes and insignias as people would only need to have 1 of each rune+insignia ever. But the simplicity of chaning armor sets around would allow for 1 set of armor to serve all needs, and you wouldn't need to change based on what you were doing.
Personally, I'd love to see Armor Storage be one of the new things they give us. Although 'Smart Armor' is a great idea, I think it is far too late to implement it, if possible. But using the HoM idea of a display could be done in a guild hall type setting. I doubt they would require people to own Eye of the North to get the armor storage, so I can't see them using the HoM. But people who LIKE having multiple armor sets, and want multiple sets for the HoM have trouble keeping that much armor. The only other way I can see this working is that when you equip a new set of armor, your old armor is not removed. Instead, it simply shifts to the 'invisible armor bag' and the new armor is used instead. Then yuo could select any armor type you have ever worn as the next to be used.

BAILOUT THE ECONOMY.
^that's what I want
Oh and my expectations
The assassin's to have more armor
make the crafting supplies go more than 250 like 500 or 999
Add a title for 'wasting my time'
Add a title for pointing
Let bosses drop a green weapon every time they are killed for a weekend or just saturday
Have a party!!

On the other hand, it's probably people who have EOTN that are most likely to need armour storage in the first place. People without are more likely to just have one, two, maybe three of their favourite armour skins with different runes and insignias on them. The HoM, however, gives an incentive to buy armour that you're not immediately planning to use at all - but you don't really want to be paying 40+k just for a statue and whatever you get from salvaging/selling the pieces - I'd rather hold onto them (or have some means of buying them back for cheaper after they've been 'unlocked') in case I DO decide I need another rune/insignia combination.

p
book storage (1 of each preferably) on each char
imo books are a poor mechanic in some ways, taking up inventory space, forgetting to bring the right one along, forgetting to get one, the lack of backwards compatibility for previously done stuff in the pre book era.
but i like the artwork, the story progression/details, the voices with the bonus mission pack ones. assuming the book mechanics need to stay in, then additional book only slots ftw, maybe autofil all the chars when they get to level 20 ? if there not book only, then we will still run around without the right book because we forget, as we would rather have the room for armour/loot/weapon/pets etc
there should still be additional open slots for storage
tomes, normal ones limited to 50-75 of each type
elite tomes to 10-15 of each type
dyes 30 of each type
return storage to how it was back in the day where u spoke to the lady. straight to chest de humanises the game imo.
some armour storage and additional slots would be really good
if we could have a room in the HOM with all our heros in, with there weapons/armour/pets/runes and traders /bonus avalible for easy pimping and checking for stuff, that would be awsome, but unlikely
more slots on chars and storage chest aswell
