Which GPU on Intel DX58SO Extreme

I'm building a new PC and my motherboard is the Intel DX58SO Extreme which apparently does not support SLI as far as I understand it. Unfortunally I'm not able to return it, since I had intentionally wanted to make a SLI system. So my question is will the Nvidia GTX 295 run on it? Or what crossfire setup would seem best for it?

I double checked for you and this board does have support for both SLI and Crossfire.

The GTX 295 will work great on it, I'm not sure how well 2 will fit, since I haven't seen the board in person and the 295 is a large card, but if you have a full tower ATX case then you should be more than fine. 2 smaller cards either SLI or Crossfire ought to work ought in a mid tower ATX case with no trouble.

That's horribly confusing Is it possible they added Nvidia Sli support later??? Or that this is some second revisioned board or something??? My motherboard claims full ATI Crossfire support but doesn't mention anything about Nvidia Sli support. My case is an Antec P180 I'm assuming it'll be big enough. If it does support Sli I'd probably go for 2 GTX 285's instead but I don't feel like buying 2 when I'm not sure the board even supports Sli. One confused person

It will support SLI, it has the Intel X58 chipset, which will support either 2 or 4 GPUs, depending on the # of slots on the motherboard. I believe your's has 2 slots, so you can put either 2 NVIDIA or 2 ATi cards.
If you are worried about it not saying SLI approved or Certified or somethign along those lines, just get a pair of 4870 video cards and go with a crossfire setup.... but seriously, you don't need to worry about it... either way will work for you. Go with whatever is best on your wallet.

Ah, they only added Sli support recently hence my confusion. Problem solved then. One last question do Sli bridges come with the GPU's because my motherboard didn't come with either Sli or Crossfire bridge?

It depends on the manufacturer, some cards come with one, sometimes you have to contact their customer support and they send you one for free, sometimes you have to buy it separately...
