Depends on what missions you're doing. In Hard Mode, you need at least some knowledge on the type of monsters you will be up against.

Anyway, just look at skills and put 2 and 2 togeather, if theres a condition heavy area - > avatar of melandru. if theres an energy depriving area -> lyssa, if theres no specific attack form in the area, reapers sweep
