Normal Mode UW Farm, A/E, best build?

I know that A/E isn't that great of a solo build anymore, but it does work. This is what I have right now:

12+3+1 Shadow Arts
11 Fire Magic
6 Water Magic
2 Deadly Arts

[Glyph Of [email protected]][Deadly [email protected]][Shadow [email protected]][Fire [email protected]][Frigid [email protected]][Glyph of Lesser [email protected]][Burning [email protected]][Lava [email protected]]

-I cast 1-3, agro the three grasping groups, recast 1-3, then cast 4-8 and recast 7 as soon as it ends, then I just cycle between 1-3 and 5-8, using 4 when needed.
-I head towards plains, killing the two grasping groups before the Obsidians
-No matter how careful I am, I always get killed by the traps here. I've tried everything from carefully agroing the traps and running back to straight out running through with Burning Speed, but nothing works.

This build doesn't seem to be able to kill Aatxes, and I've heard alot of people saying they can with A/E. Can anyone tell me the best build for this? And some tips to get past the traps?

You skip the Aatxes, just kill the Grasping Darkness' and run to the Chaos Plains. To run over the traps, either just run over them before they "set" (1-2 seconds) or activate burning speed and walk over them. Try to walk on the farthest out spot possible. Don't kill the graspings before the Obsidian Behmoths, they don't drop anything worthwhile, and it's a waste of time.

First off, don't ask for the "best build". If you check the posting guidelines, that's reason enough to get a threadlock. However, you asked for other information, and so that you can get that information, I'm not going to /close this thread.

Behemoths are stationary. They can only lay traps at their exact location. Yes, the traps do have wider radii, but, as Icy said, stay as far away from the Behemoths as possible when running past to avoid triggering the traps. If you watch carefully, you can see where the traps are laid, and should be able to move around them on the fly.

Also, take out [[Lava [email protected]], it's just going to scatter them. Last I heard, the Asuran skill [[Radiation Field] was a good choice for more degen. I could be wrong, tho.

Alright, sorry about the title thing. I can edit it if you like.

And thanks for the tip about skipping the graspings+Radiation Field, looks great to me.

Radiation field... I cannot get that with a tome, correct?

Ugh, I really don't want to go all that way on my sin >.>

also try swapping to a HP+60 staff while going through the traps, used to help me.

Don't worry about getting Radiation Field for this farm as it's not that good against the Mindblades

Also I don't use Fire Attunement when farming the plains I just auto attack with a set of Zealous Daggers to keep my energy up. (Make sure you have a 20% enchanting mod on the daggers in case you don't switch back to your staff in time for the SF cast)

What sort of times are people taking to do the now?

The mindblades energy gets drained when casting spells on a person with SF on... Just a hint...

Learn the wall technique. It helps with scatter as mobs will try to break to their left when scattering. Basically you grab aggro, pull them into a tight knit ball next to an edge they can't go through. Make sure the edge is on their left and your right when facing them. Then take a short step off from the wall and then commence slaughter. There are videos on youtube that show you the proper way of doing this.

You can also use the low health technique to stop scatter.

When I get to the plains I find a safe spot let SF run out dropping me to 53hp then recast and engage mobs. Don't have any problems with scatter from LF.

Does nyone have a map of which route is best now that you can't pull the riders so far?

Thanks

Last time I tried this I ran out of energy.

How do you keep your energy up, or is this just very slow?

It's alot slower than it used to be and the easiest way to keep energy up is to auto attack with a set of zealous +20% enchant daggers, or similar specced scythe.

You lose the benefit that GOLE gives you of extra energy from Fire Attunement if you use Radiation Field instead, not to mention it costs more energy.

Lo and behold- I tried all of your tips, and now I can successfully get to the plains and clear most of the mobs every time!

Thank you, everyone!

I use the same build as I posted before, but take out Burning Speed and anything to do with Water Magic, and replace them with Mark of Rodgort and Dash.

Stats:
12+1+3 Shadow Arts
12 Fire Magic
3 Deadly Arts (I think, might be 2)

Equipment:
Totem Axe + Flame Artifact

Zealous Thunderfist's Brass Knuckles of Enchanting (all perfect)

It works great for me. Thanks for the tips, everyone!
