GW Client Password wasn't changed but I can't get in GW.

When I am in the GW Client, I type in my password that I have been using and it does not recognize it as my password. What gives? As far as I know, I did not change my password, and if I did mistakenly change the GW password, then I do not know what it was changed to.
Please help me resolve this. Thanks, (kneebender)

Yes - it's a possibility that you've been hacked but you might be mistyping the password (especially if you use a mix of upper and lower case).

If you have the game account associated with a PlayNC account - I believe you can change game passwords from PlayNC too, so you can set to a known password.

In light of the recent PHPList hack that phpBB suffered - if you were a subscriber to that community, then there is a slight chance that someone has tried to brute force a series of passwords for your eMail address but why they would bother with a game account...

This actually happened to me the other day as well. I happened to be online at the time and I got a double disconnect, then it wouldn't let me log back on. I was worried that it was a hack, so I quickly changed my password and thigns have been fine since. As far as I can tell nothing was taken off the acct, so it might not have actually been a hack. So I'd say reset your password.

Looks mike there are lots of hackers around at the moment... :s

I am in the process of changing my password within PlayNC account, however, my PlayNC does not show any negative changes to it like information taken away. I just cannot actually change my game account password for GW because there is not a GW game account listed. Whats up with that?! Thats what I don't understand. I have sent off emails to PlayNC tech support so I am hoping early next week this can be resolved. But if any of you have any ideas, I am all ears. Thanks, kneebender.

Weirdest thing though, I usually use a gw shortcut which has my user and pass on it (im the only one who uses this comp...) and I used it today without any probs, then I accidentally logged out and tried to log in, manually typing in my password but it wouldnt work. I tried again with the shortcut and no problems, it logged in (I even checked that it was the same password), manually it wouldnt work. I tried to change my password (when I logged in with my shortcut) but it kept complaining that it was wrong.. Then I tried to reset it but I never got a "your request has been submitted" type of verification, just a option to log in to playNC, but I have never used it so I dont remember which account my GW account is linked to (if any..).
