Customise or don't customise?
Ez now
The title is pretty much the question. I normally customise my weapons, but i'm not sure whether to customise my scythe on my dervish or not. What is best?

I usually do except for the high end stuff like tormented weapons. All my destroyer and some golds I use are costumized, 20% damage bonus for 10g is just <3

Ok, so I should if they're low prices. Ty.

customize on meele char, not on caster

Yes and what the poster above me said. Only costumize melee weapons, bows and spears because they're the ones doing the damage. Staffs, off-hands, wands and caster weapons (melees and spears) you shouldn't since it'd be useless.

Customize everything.

If it's a weapon I have no intention of parting with - my Ranger's Storm Bow, my Mesmer's zodiac staff - I'll customize it (the extra 20% doesn't hurt regardless of how little it comes into play). If it's a weapon that I've equipped a hero with, I'll customize it.
Elder III
customize your melee weapons, anything that you want to deal damage with (bows included obviously) - it's not necessary on caster weps, but it doesn't hurt either. Weps with a greater value I personally don't customize, you never know when you might need some cash and want to sell it...

Cheers.
Since you are using a melee class i suggest costumizing for the good dmg dealing capacity of the dervish.

I don't customize expensive weapons/golds (such as my Tormented Scythe). I usually leave those as they are.
Anything else, go for it. (;

I customize greens, not golds. Obviously only the ones that benefit from the extra 20% damage. Because greens are cheap and probably won't be resold, while golds always have the chance to be.

pve scrubs->don't custo, because selling items you want for items you don't want is gg
pvp scrubs->custo, because 20% dmg is profit??
If you bought an item you like, and you don't want to suck, custo it. If you feel like trading weapons every 3 hours instead of playing the game, don't custo

This comes up time and time again and its really a no brainer. If your are a damage dealer and you plan to hit stuff (projectiles included) with your weapon then customise it.
Chthon
Customize anything you use for its ability to do damage.

Not customizing a scythe on a derv is a massive failure. Scythe is a big damage weapon and 20% of it is huge.
You should think of customizing this way: If your weapon is not customized it has an invisible line of text saying:
"Penalty: This weapon deals 20% less damage than it should (Customize to remove this effect)"
It really really SUCKS to have a max perfect weapon and have it deal WORSE damage than a random trash WHITE would after customizing.
I customize even staffs and wands, just everything, except for Caster Spears/Swords/Axes which aren't meant to deal any damage at all.

Customize the weapons that you WANT to keep, or are planning to at least. If you find anything that makes you go "meh..." Don't customize it. Be especially careful when you find high end weapons as their rarity might get into your head and make you want to keep it. Focus on your taste in weapon skins and use the rare skins for a better investment, I.E. sell them.
