Skill Packs- Is there any Point
isaac-e
Hey, I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions about the Skill Packs. I mean, it's cool that you can instantly unlock every skill, but won't that spoil the game? Or is earning skills just a small part of the game. Any way, I'd like to hear some of your views.
P.S. Sorry if this is in the wrong place.

It's good for your heroes or PvP characters, since it saves you in-game money and/or faction from your PvE characters. If you really are a hardcore PvP player, or want your heroes to do all the work, it's good.

it is a good idea.
When going through most of the game, especially anything more difficult or specialist than nm missions you will need good heroes to support you, and quite often specific hero builds for a particular purpose.
Therefore it is much more advantageous to have all, or most, of the skills unlocked as soon as possible so that you are able to use these builds and have good heroes without needing to buy or balth farm all of them.
Also makes sure you're not caught out needing a skill which you never thought you would need

PvP is strictly more enjoyable with everything unlocked because you can concentrate on improving your abilities and builds and not on whether you have some skill or the other.

i would say that is for people who have money to burn and are lazy =)

Well IMO, I like having to search and cap skills to unlock them. For me it was part of the games intent when it first came out. Buying the skill packs so your heros already are uber takes something away from the whole learning mechanic. Its a challenge when starting out how to make builds and survive, and helps you learn what the skills really do and dont do.

I thought they were a great idea, especially as I don't have time to be a "hard-core" PvE player, work and RL simply get in the way of being able to cap every single skill (not just elites).
Having fully skilled (and runed !!) up heroes really helps the casual PvE player like me, who indeed have more money than time.... On top of that I'm still working towards my Skillhunter title, so that part of the game is still relevant.

The skill packs are good if you're planning on doing PVP but haven't progressed far on the PVE side on that account; for example if you have a second account, or just added a chapter
They're useful if you're starting out in PVE and want a boost to your heroes.
They're not much use if you've been playing for 3 years + and buying skills regularly across all chapters for multiple professions

I bought them all mainly as I wasn't a huge PvPer and thus,Balthazar faction was rare. They were 1/2 price offer back then and to me wasn't a big deal.Different now to a degree as I do PvP but even now being able to roll anything inc weapons/mods/runes (got PvP kit too) is a bonus and well worth it.

Just going through the game unlocked most things for me all ready so I see it as a waste to buy it. Maybe if I'm really lazy, I would.

I think theyre totally worth it...C'mon heroes having all the skills = awesomeness. going to pvp, with a pvp char, and having every skill at your disposal = awesome...
I really need this, i have like no skills unlocked for my PVP sin, which limits the amount of builds i can use, and i don't wanna waste balth faction or in-game gold on them.

They're more or less essential for PVP, especially on 2nd and 3rd accounts. As already said, it doesn't ruin PVE because you have to either still buy the skill for each char, or use a tome for each char. It also means you can use heroes, even at low levels, and not have them running a truly gimped build.

Skill packs look nice but I really hate how they're broken down into campaigns. I don't want everything at once. Why not make profession packs, broken down into campaigns? Or each skill for money? They cost like 5c a skill or less currently (exception to EoTN).

If you purchase said skill packs, do you need to visit a trainer and spend skill points and money to learn them or just hit "k" and they're there?
Does this include all elites as well?

Even if you buy the skill pack, you still have to visit a skill trainer and pay money and a skill point for each skill you want to add to your character. You don't automatically have the skills. As for elites, you still either have to capture or buy an elite tome.

Does this unlock the elite skills also?
If that is the case then all you need is elite tomes and then you get the Skills hunter title? Do that for all of the toons and you get 4 titles? Is that not defeating the point of the skills.. you know H U N T E R part of the title?
Seems bit sick that you can BUY the titles.
wtb elite runes 7K each any prof will do (Party Seach)

it's definitely worth it, its super cheap and will save you hours of gringing for stuff that only your heroes need.
I spent 30 bucks and now h/h is easier than most groups even.
I still cap elites for the title because it's funner than buying tomes.
