stuck on build

When I'm with a group of melee I run a build with SoH, splinter, ancestors rage...when I'm with discord I run ap which is fun, but if I'm with a group without many melee, i don't really know what build to run.

Is it still viable to run the AP build that is most commonly used with discord, without the heros? I guess as long as you time your AP right it would be fine...but damn it sucks when the mob doesn't die in time.

Otherwise, what pve build should i run if I'm not healing, and there aren't many melee or I just don't feel like spending my time refreshing splinter on everyone? I don't really like doing a splinter barrage or splinter volley...bows just aren't my style.

I've checked out pvx wiki and there aren't many build that appeal to me..but maybe you can say why they are good if you are going to suggest one.

When you say "without any melee" do you tend to bring a MM? What does the rest of your team look like?

If you're looking for a build that's not party support, not healing but more caster-oriented offense, (without the traditional AP build) you might want to consider something like
[Summon Ice [email protected]][Spirit [email protected]][Ebon Battle Standard of [email protected]](or [Ebon Battle Standard of [email protected]])[Pain [email protected]][[email protected]][Offering of [email protected]][essence [email protected]](or use skills from secondary)[Death pact [email protected]]

It'll help snare mobs together for AoE dmg, dish out more dmg period from the ward, quickly take care of bosses with PI and manage energy with OoS. Of course, change you build accordingly to the area you're fighting through.


BTW, I haven't actually tested this out. It's just kinda off the top of my head.

BTW, I haven't actually tested this out. It's just kinda off the top of my head. Without any melee usually means like a warrior tank but that is about it, and barely anyone runs MM anymore. The rest would be a few eles, an ss, and then assorted others.

And what people are probably going to suggest is run a minion bomber..but frankly i find it kinda hard. Keeping up death nova on all of them seems like a bit too much micro-management for me...would a hero keep up death nova on them for me?

[Aura of the Lich] is kinda fun when combined with the 3 Spawning Power skills.. I did the Kilroy part of Sorrow's Furnace with 7 other people and found it quite the fun to play ^^

Just have a +3+1 Spawning Power headgear and you're set. You can replace the 7th skill with anything you like.. I just found out it boring to just wand enemies to death while waiting for bodies for my minions..
Edit: also it is a good idea to have a +20% enchant weapon with you..

*agrees*, a hero would be much better at casting [death nova] on minions.
