I originally played guild wars about a 2 years or so ago a bit before factions came out and i played for a good while. I stopped playing the game for a while and watching someone else play, I think ive gotten the bug again. I'm currently in the process of trying to get my account info back beacuse i swear i know my email but its saying theres no such one. (I hope they didnt delete it!) I'd like to know whats new lately or what i should know about the game, like if 55 monks still work and such. Thanks!

If you stopped playing that long ago, don't bother reading all the updates. Just play like it was a completely new game, because it is.

yeah the gamers have gotten brutal. The community really sucks as far as helping new and returning players.

With the invention of hero's you will never get a team of 8 real players on fire islands for example like you did when you first started playing.

The game is all about the ID. The id acts as a pleasure principle: if not compelled by reality it seeks immediate enjoyment. It is focused on selfishness and instant self-gratification. This means that 99% of the community is out to accomplish its own goals not want nothing with you while the ego acts according to the reality principle that you are not worth the time as a form of reality conflicting with their id.

Ok I have finished babbling. Case in point. I have a lvl 18 in presearing and in local chat I will see that someone is asking for help to find ranger skills. I invite them to my party with me. They do and then run up to me and see...lvl 18.

They are like Holy COW!! What are you doing they ask me. Why do you want to help me? I am lvl 2 What are you getting out of it? I am like well you asked for help...here I stand picking my nose in RL looking for something to do. The ranger is like in disbelief that someone this high in lvl would reach down and help?

This is VERY bad for the community as a whole. Granted I found out later that this ranger has factions and NF and eye of the north and is Elite in PVP and stinking rich. He told me that he NEVER would help someone that was not his lvl or higher. I was like...that's sad man. Where is your community spirit?

I think that there should be a title for that and a stature in the Hall of Monuments where others can list your achievements. Abuse would run ramped.

So yeah start playing again because there is that 1% still here for the love of the game and the community of helpers.

I have to agree with Imnotyourmother, having played this game for almost 4 years now i've seen a huge change in the quality of player. I still go out of my way to help someone, sometimes I miss the old days. The biggest change for me is the attitude of alot of people out there. The reason you see more heroes than real players I think is because heroes listen. And I'm so tired of the person who reads about a build online- believes its godlike and wont let you join his party unless you conform to his ideals. But there are some of us left so by all means come back to the fun
