I looked into the older thread about this quest. I did the Kings message, Defend the wall and Vanguard equipment. Should i have Barradin's advance able to take as next one from Arne? if so, i dont (completed Fort ranik, proph char)

After Defend the Wall, you should have The Great Northern Wall -- a mission. Check out this wiki link if you wanna see more... http://www.wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/L...ecies_missions -- but be warned that if you click around too much, you'll ruin the story line.

Yes, the Fires in the East quest should be available to you if you did The King's Message, Defend the Wall, Barradin's Advance and then the Fort Ranik Mission.
I just took a new Prophecies character through that sequence to get the reward staff for my Ranger. I did Barradin's Stand, but didn't do Supplies for the Duke because Captain Arne had the Fires in the East quest available without it.

The Wikia wiki suggests that both Barradin's Advance (from Gate Guard Hollis) and Fort Ranik need to be completed. There's certainly a suggestion that the quest becomes unavailable if you complete Ruins of Surmia before taking it.
