Ecto

Hello, I've been told that Ecto is a good way to make money seeing as I'm a Necro........... What is Ecto? I know you get it in the UW, but how do I get it? is there a good guide anywhere on the internet? what kind of tactics should I use? I.E is MM a good tactic? Is it only worth doing it on hard mode?

I'm level 20 with a few good Necro skills.

Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

No to the mm question. Being that you are new to UW, you should plan on being an [Spiteful Spirit] necro/mesmer for a 55monk. There are other options, but that is the oldest and easiest to learn. Rather than give you the whole build, I'll suggest you find a 55monk and have them set your bar up to their liking.

Getting there:
In Prophecies, you need to be ascended and get to Temple of the Ages.
In Factions, you need to complete Nahpui Quarter mission and get to Zin Ku Corridor.
In Nightfall you need to start from Chantry of Secrets.

learn how to use sf with archance echo, and use a shadow form sin with earth tank skills to easily do it

Also to add, you need to pay to get into UW, which really stink because you need to learn and the only way to do that is spend 1k (or a scroll) each trip. So, have a plan before heading in, I know I wasted around 20k for my failed attempts with W/Rt ecto soloing. Try and get someone to teach it to you ingame before you try yourself.

Also, I agree with the SS, but if you can't get a monk for 55ing, try for a UWSC team (idk if they still do that), which is much better when you have teamates to aid you, esp. in a UW guild.

yea there is one spot for necro in speed clear team. i don't know what skills it is, but i tihnk its [spiteful spirit]

I personally think ecto is where you put your gold (or ruby/sapph) when you cannot hold any more plat (1000k).

Perhaps UW farms of ecto can get you more than 25k/hour, but if not, then it's moot.
