tapestry shred

has it been removed from the game?

i've given gwen the red iris flowers but she wont take the flute or cape from me as she is already wielding/wearing them and i have not given them to her before. how do i get the tapestry shred now?

make another character, don't enter the map with anyone else and give her the red iris flowers, then the flute and cape.

the problem occurs when you enter the map with another character that has already given her the items, you then can't get it yourself.

You should also be able to get by without giving her that expensive cape. Give her the flute and then let her follow you, giving her any flowers you come across. In a short time she should give you the shred.

Nope. What op has is what is commonly called the tainted Gwen. He partied with someone who already got the shred and thus, the game has it down that the op has also received a shred. And he will not be getting another one on that char.

If you really want it, delete and start over.

The shred is only useful if you plan to take this toon to EotN, otherwise it just takes up space

My bad for not being clear. Of course the OP can't fix the problem for his current character. I was actually referring to the poster above me who advised having the new character give Gwen the flute and cape. When the OP rerolls or creates a new character, he shouldn't need to waste money on the cape, which is ridiculously expensive by pre standards.

Just give her 5 red Iris flowers all at once and you'll get the Tapestry.

Give her the new flute and have her follow, she'll on occasion heal you.

As a warning to anyone trying to get a Tapestry Shred, this "quest" is usually messed up when you take the "Adventure With an Ally" quest, a.k.a. the Res-Sig quest. If that person has already caped their Gwen, yours becomes "tainted" and can never be persuaded to part with her Shred.

If you have a friend that will meet you in Ascalon City when you make your new character, and will loan/give you 200g (before you do any quests), take the 200g out with you. Do your skills quest, collect reward, then talk immediately with Gwen to get her Flute quest. Fetch her flute, let her follow you. When you find a flower, give it to her. Then go to the merchant on the hill outside Ashford Abbey, buy the flute and give it to her. Then buy the cape and give that to her. She most likely will give you the shred. Has worked for me last 9 of 10 times. Just do not go back into town until you have the shred.
