Do you regret character names or campaigns ever?
Unu Corey
Do you say I should have started in <insert campaign> or I should have chose <character name> instead? I was just curious.
Wish Swiftdeath
Not for campaigns.
Definately for character names. I made all of mine when i was a 12 year old roleplaying >.<

Name, yes. Campaign, no. With few exceptions, campaign is irrelevant once you're at a port town, which comes quickly in 2/3 campaigns.
Name (and name change) has been discussed into the dirt a thousand times before, so expect lots of flames, particularly because within your first 4 posts you started a rather useless discussion thread.

Nah because my older character names give me that nostalgic feeling which is always welcome.
Plus who can beat a name like Acherulis Maximus? How about White Wirlver? Or even Natzviar Beritzsha?!
Names are pro.

Yes.
I noticed the typo like 1 month after character creation, which made me a sad panda.

I certainly wish I hadn't started a trend with mine.
I started off with Kedric Trolltwatter, a wammo who only discovered how apt his name was when he finally reached Droknar's Forge.
The name amused me, so I continued with Kedric Yetitwatter, Planttwatter, Dwarftwatter, Grawltwatter, Deathtwatter, Eletwatter, Messytwatter - it ended up being an annoying enough trend on its own, but when you consider the fact that most of those Kedrics are actually female characters...
I had much more fun with my mules - Stor Mai Stuf, I Am A Cupboard, I Hold Your Tackle and, my personal favourite, Genesis P Storage.

I can't say how much I regret putting "shadow" into my assassin name %) He's my main and it's kinda sad that you can't throw a dead cat on a rail and miss something similar. The only thing that comforts me is that it's not naruto-related at least %)
Horus
i do regret it too, made my monk with a reason to only farm with him so really didnt bother with name too much, but after i finnished NF to farm doa and some other missions in other campaigns i realized how cool monking actually is and continued playing him as my main. Only after some months i realized how lame "Dragon Healer" sounds
Arkantos
I don't regret any of my names or campaigns.
Arkantos The Mighty is a mighty name.

The only thing that irks me about character names is when I can't use one that's already taken and there's a good chance that person isn't playing anymore.
subarucar
Ive had many names i made when i was about 12, most of which have now been deleted.
thedeadwalk!
I'm pretty satisfied with my character names, and campaigns, as I choose campaign mostly for which one has the most appealing looking version of the profession I'm making. Now, whether I'm happy with the professions I've chosen to invest in is another question, and one I certainly am stuck with.
lilraceangel3
Yeah, I had a great name for my sin, but got hit by a-nets ban stick (which i didnt agree with.) I was so frustrated at the time i couldnt think of anything clever so I renamed her Flirtatious Sin (lame, I know) and shes Survivor R3 so i dont want to delete her. FAIL
lewis91
Yeh i wish i could change toon names, when i first started aged 13 i couldnt think of a name so i gave my first toon my full name ¬_¬ which sounded horrible. But he got deleted when someone stole my account ¬_¬ Other than that im ok with my names, Maximus T Pain, I Enchanted Me I = Two main chars, Haung Sai wish i could change now, but don't mind, not terrible. Rest are pvp which i delete - recreate regually with names like Range Yo Real Good, Smonking Time lol.
Silverwarp
Heh, nope, not at all. I made my names with the thought that they should be poetic and also not stupid. See my IGN on the left as an example.
I resent that. I left and came back a few times. But, I'll say this, when I first created my characters (in March '05), names like "White Dragon," "White Paladin," etc, were all gone. They started the beta in December as I recall, and it makes me wonder if the guys with those names are around anymore.
Oh yeah, as for campaign. I would definitely avoid started NF if I can help it. I much rather have leveled up heroes than to babysit them and level them up.

I give my characters actual names that are appropriate to the campaign I start them in (ie Factions characters have Asian names, Nightfall characters have African/Middle-Eastern names, Prophecies characters have European names), and I always spend a bit of time coming up with the name so I can make sure I come up with something I like.
Campaign, nope, because it's easy to go to a different one.

I choose my names and campains very carefully, so I don't regret anything.
The closest to regrets I have is a mispelling of my ele's name Fengh Huang, I didn't discover the error untill she had the tengu mask. The name doesn't seem bad but she was named after one of the Chinese holy animals, si-ling, feng huang is a phoenix, fengh huang is nothing.

Names
One in particular. My elementalist. I named him on a whim from what my old boss used to call one of my fellow employees at the time. All my other names came easy, but i could not find the inspiration for him. I stopped playing him for awhile due to ele's in tyria were/are very suspect. By the time i wanted to get back into playing an ele, he was already 2-3 years old and had 15k armor. Seemed like a big waste of money/time to redo him for a name.

Yeah, I've regretted several names. Mostly because I created the character as a mule, then eventually decided to play it because it was fun/would be useful and didn't want to remake because it was over a year old already. And I regret some hair styles.
DarkGanni
Only name I regret that of my para: Click To Control Me. There are so much better names, probably that's the reason why I don't play him as much.
turbo234
i always regret character names after i make them. not so much the campaigns though.
the latest was my monk that i had for almost 2 years and didnt really pay attention to the spelling of his name and just a couple weeks ago realized i spelled pharaoh wrong. so i deleted him.
on the plus side i got 27 of the 75 ecto back from his gloves.

Campaign no. Name yes.
Lyynyyrd
I had a female friend of mine create a character. I stopped talking to her for a year after we broke up, and I regretted it then. We're reconciled now and I don't care anymore.
Campaigns: I only play Factions.

Campaigns sometimes due to the looks on my character or having to buy some skills I might have learned through quests in other campaigns. Names too, obviously.

Names, yes. Appearances, yes. Chapters, no.
I have characters with obsidian armor that I don't even play now because their names and appearances. Instead, I made new ones with better names and looksets.
I still keep my original characters for hopes that one day (perhaps years from now) Anet allows us to change looks and/or names.

I created my monk back when the price for making a 55 monk had gone down and it was still popular. "Heal N Fifty Fiver" is his name. Now that 55 monks are basically dead, except for the few people that don't understand that it doesn't work well anymore, I hate that his name is such. I don't want to recreate him either because all the time I've spent on him is wasted. And I refuse to play him because of his name for some reason. It repels me as if it and I were positively charged magnets.
Campaign... nah.
But physical settings... yes; on Heal N as well.
EDIT:
I've come to conclusion that if you want to hide your character's face settings... Make them wear a Dread Mask or a Mask of Mo Zing.

Na, not really. Some of the silliest names I have were made with friends.
I have a necro named Invite Real Monks. The only thing I regret about her is that the rit who bore the first half of a pair-name, Say No To Alesia, has long since been deleted. (And the joke isn't as funny any more.)

Nessar
Character names, sorta but not that much. Since I re-made my rit and ranger, it's all good.
Campaign: I really wish I made my ele in nf >< NF chars just look so much more detailed and better. But I'm not remaking her just to have a prettier face :P. Thank gawd shes my only proph char, asides from my war.

Never for campaigns, and my names are all OK, but I really wish I had made my monk and warrior both female.
When I bought proph, I decided to keep it equal... I made male Warrior and Monk and female ele and necro. Man, I really hate the male avatars in this game! At least I made every character since female

Like a few others, I made my first character and it had my name. I later hated the name and deleted the charater : / I'd have my 3rd birthday by now if I kept him. I has like 10 at the time :P (now 13).
cosyfiep
for the most part, no to both, however; I did find a typo in one of my mules names.
for the characters I usually play the names have been agonized over to come up with (though I really do wish I could have 2 letters in a roll capitalized without a space) so I am happy with them; chapters however, hm yeah there are a few I wish had started in other places, but it really doesnt matter as I usually then made a mule in the chapter that I had wanted another character in---if I then REALLY wanted that one, the mule got screen time.

Dr.Jones
name yes my monk and a few of my now mules who are my oldest toons. i don't delete for the pet mini pets, but i would change my monks name and hair in a heart beat. as for campaign not really i do think the faces and hair styles are much better in night fall then in any of the other mainly because it seems like the put some effort into them.
Lycan Nibbler
Names yes.. means that my first account got pushed down to under used 4th account these days.
RedNova88
Names I do and don't regret at the same time, because although I don't like the sounds of Aminta Nitya, it has a meaning behind it that just happened to wind up being totally convenient for GW2. Aminta= Defender/Protector Nitya= Always/Eternal. However, the name sounds lame and uncreative which bugs me.
Campaign regret? Sure, there's some of that. Getting Survivor 3 while leveling through Prophecies with mostly just henchies is painful and stressful. Would have done it in factions or NF, but EotN wasn't out yet and I hated the faces that Factions and NF had. On top of it all, I didn't even know about the attribute quests in Prophecies so I spent a while wondering why all my PvP character had 200, while I had quite a few less.

my main char, a necro, named Magic Emo Kid
mind you im 18 so im hardly a kid. i like the overall name cause necros are basically magical emos, but the kid part just kinda annoys me. alas i already have obs armor on him and am working on titles for him atm so have no intention on remaking him

Hailey Anne
I have only regreted Campaigns. All my chars are some form of Hailey or Hailey Anne named after my daughter.
Giga Strike
I regret "Melandru Chick", but she is too developed to delete. I regreted "Rits dont blow" and deleted him for a new rit.
As far as campaigns go, I'd like to start an assassin in prophecies, but that isn't going to happen.

Marty Silverblade
I'm happy with my characters. I think these things through and check everything I do before I make a character.

Yeah Character names, remade few characters due that, but also regretting making example Nec on Factions, wanted prophs one
