Solving the Problem of "Suicide MMs" in Fort Aspenwood
Lourens
[[Verata's Aura] solves the problem imo
MithranArkanere
Yeah. And will turn all Death Novas to your side too.
Giga_Gaia
and kurzicks have been saying [Well of the Profane] solves bonder problems too, but Anet still gave them free enchant removals via the stupid turtles. Now there's a problem that involves these MM's and you guys say "use Veratas"... but since it's a problem for kurzicks Anet doesn't care, right?
street peddler
thats because 1 single bonder could completely halt a team if nobody had rend enchantments or gaze of contempt. and luxons are already at a disadvantage.

The problem isn't just the griefers, it's how players react to the griefers. If these morons who get victimized by griefers actually learned to use the /report feature correctly this wouldn't be an issue. Just report griefers under the leeching statute if they contest it saying they weren't leeching cause they were technically doing stuff you can show admins screenshots of them griefing and get them banned.
It's just like on Law and Order SVU, if the girl doesn't report the rape Det. Benson can't solve the case.
The only fix that will really work (as said, get rid of the aotl mms something else comes along, and when you die your minions are supposed to be a threat to your team, what's to stop a guy from going out to get an army, bringing it back through the gates THEN saccing in green.) is to add another /report checkbox called "griefing" with the description that says something to the effect "Knowingly exploiting skills and tactics to impede the progress of your own team ".
Also add in a feature like /report#1 to report a player by number rather then name or your current target in case it's a foreign guy or he's hiding in a corner with a long difficult to spell name.

The game mechanics pretty much has to be changed....verata's aura is pointless because you pretty much have to camp next to the griefer for the entire match because AoTL let you create minions out of thin air. Even before AoTL people just get some minions from outside, go in, and sac.
Vel
Make all minions perish when a person dies from saccing. Problem solved.

Even if someone did bring verata's, they need to camp green so as to not lose automatically. That's 2 people out of the team, assuming only 1 griefer, who could be doing something better.
And luxons at a disadvantage? That's debatable. Who knows what will happen once they stop leeching/botting to actually do something?
StormX
Meh, if they try this BS when I'm around I'll bring my monk and sit next to them.

I still think treating Gunthar like a Guildlord in terms of time based damage reduction is a step in the right direction. Whether it fixes it completely, im up in the air about that.

OR here's another idea.... why run a Mo/N. that way you can Monk AND bring your own minion stealing skill... *gasp (Again!) |
Since when should you ever have to bring a skill on your bar to protect against your own team? Your repost proved exactly my point about your thinking.

If you're going to let the Luxon team in your base that close with as much of an advantage as the Kurzicks have on that map, you probably don't deserve to win anyway. |

No need for change. It will take a Luxon MM enough time to run to Gunther again after a suicide. And any Kurzick ele nuker can handle a bunch of broken-away minions easily. Especially if assisted by a healer/protector.
rohara
make it so the architects cannot take damage/conditions/hexes unless the green gate has been broken - problem solved. let the suicide bombers try to take on the green gate NPCs instead. the minions are no match for them.

As I said, best option, learn to report and demand an additional report feature for grieving.

I think this is a new low for the GWG community. This is why I use this forum as an example of poor community cohesion and horrid manners....
I don't think that the Kurzicks complained this much with the previous Fort Aspenwood (And I do believe it was skewed heavily towards Luxons, was it not?), and if we did, why lower yourselves to our level? Honestly, win Fort Aspenwood fairly, and then you can feel proud of yourselves. Does it really make you feel better to win in Fort Aspenwood dishonestly? It wouldn't make me. I would feel dirty. And it's not like you aren't winning in AB most of the time, for some reason, though, that isn't the point.
No one is forcing you to play Aspenwood, and when I played it when the Kurzicks lost 4/5 matches, I didn't complain about the Luxons being cheap or dirty, and I reported anyone who used dirty tactics to win. You can play the (wonderfully, I think) balanced Jade Quarry or Alliance Battles, or (GASP!) play quests or vanquish Hard Mode under a blessing, if those aren't your fortes. For heaven's sake, it's not like someone is tying you to the desk making you play Fort Aspenwood...
In all honesty, this is an abuse of a game mechanic intentionally used to ruin the game for Kurzick players, and it isn't cute. Amend Aura of the Lich to kill any minions summoned by it when the player dies in a PvP area, or any area, for that matter. That's the best solution, I think.

TBH, this can happen just as easily on the Luxon side. Just have an MM do this at the Commander bases.
Giga_Gaia
Except griefing the command bases won't make your team lose automatically.
Hugh Manatee
No but you could take a Me/E or E/Me with [iron mist][illusion of pain][drain delusion]and/or [shatter delusion] with low dom specced and make the kurzic NPCs invincible. Or go Mo/E with [iron mist][jaimei's healing circle][heal area][unyielding aura] to heal the NPCs and make ressing impossible.
