Here is a build that in my opinion whips serious arse in the unorganized public arenas and I have not had a chance to try it in more serious combat.

BTW this is my all time favorite build as of last week.

Build Template

Profession: R/W

Name: Q's Faction Fiend

Type: PvP/ or whatever else you like.

Category: Hard to categorize but "Tank" it is I guess

Attributes:

Swordmanship 12

Tactics 9

Expertise 13 + Superior Expertise Rune

Wilderness Survival 4 + Minor rune

Equipment:

Barbed Sword of shelter for the lengthen bleeding duration and defense mod.

Also the sword must have dmg increase while in stance.

Shield must also be the Health + 45 in stance

Rune of major or superior vigor either should do.

Skills Set:

Serpents Quickness

{Escape}

Desperation Blow

Wild Swing

Savage Slash

Deadly Riposte---or Lightning Reflexes

Whirling Defense

Rez Sig

Summary:

My purpose was to beat the piss out of casters but it ended up working well againts most any class as long as they are noob builds or inexperienced.

Not that experienced players with good builds don't get smashed by this build alot.

My second purpose was to earn more faction because I found that when I was un-confident in my build I lost waaay to much and wasted my time as well as my teams.

This build has been incredibly successful at achieving these goals.

Ok as you can see serpents quickness recharges your skills faster and it works like a charm for this build.

Then you have the Escape skill as it is fast to recharge and works well along with whirling effectively giving you 75% chance to evade attacks almost indefinitely if ya time it right allowing you to become very tough to most attackers.

I went with the sword for no good reason at first however it has proven to be the best method for my style.

Desperation Blow is good damage and allows nice DoT action if it hits.

Wild Swing turns off your opponents stance most times and makes them open to attacks and it recharges very fast so if a build relies to heavily on stances then they are in trouble.

Savage slash is for that extra dmg on the casters and the interupt.

Deadly Riposte was my latest and last addition to my skill line up since it stacks with my bleeding duration mod and is a fire and forget attack skill.

Whirling defense is another 75% chance to evade attacks skill for reason mentioned above

Rez Rez Rez

The way to play this build is to select a monk or caster and charge in using the {escape} and start whaling on them.

Then once they are toast move on to lesser targets.

You would really just have to try this to see.

I had another build that is similar but I settled on this one for its ability to earn me faction so quickly compared to my other feeble attempts at a solid PvP build

Notes & Concerns: This build tends to be fairly fast paced with a medium learning curve and other than that I would say watch out for those necros who know what they are doing and archers who are smart against meelee types other than that this build rips through noobs like hot sword through cream cheese.

Credit:* I used the search here but it would not work for whatever reason so I take partial credit though I am sure someone else has done this at one time or another.

Enjoy for all you people wanting one hell of a R/W build for casual PvP.

PS try this out in serious matchs and lemme know what ya think.

good luck

Replace SQ with Shield Stance, and you'll be closer if not at 100% stance. With your current build, unless I have my numbers wrong, you'll have little gaps every so often. Not a major problem actualy. In fact, you just might deal more damage if you left the evasion stances alone, and tried something like TF.

SQ is Serpants Quickness.

And yes, I do mean ditch evasion stances for more attacks, and certainly for Tiger's Furry. Otherwise you're a paladin with high ele resist. Tanks are not what wins the day in PvP, being the last man standing on your team is nothing special.

I'd swap out Deadly Riposte for Sever, so you can bleed casters. That being said, I'd only bring Sever if you've also got Gash along.

In PvP, you should consider what advandages your primary gives, and work with that. Rangers can spam nergy skills (like Tiger's Furry) much easier than a warrior, unless you take advantage of that, there's no reason to melee with a ranger primary. Having 12 instead of 16 weapon mastery is a big downside.

Okay you had suggested I take the attack speed increase so I checked out the Lightning reflexes and replaced the Deadly Riposte with it and it fits very well and the damage inflicted goes up a hell of alot.
