Hey guys new player here... I am interested in pet classes but found the necro a bit difficult to play because of the corpse requirement. Would you recommend (or not) a heavy spirit build for a new player?

i recommend not even playing one. spirits are so squishy and die within a couple hits, take forever to set up, and have very limited mobility.

Spirits are weak, don't bother.
Get a half decent build from PvX Wiki and start tweaking it to your liking once you got used to it.

In PvE normal mode just run anything, find a guild, make some friends, have fun.

This is alright for beginners, I rarely use it anymore, but I used [skill]Signet of Ghostly Might[/skill] when i did. As the other posters have said, spirits are not the best way to go, they die really fast when targeted, and [skill]Summon Spirits[/skill] will occasionally put all of your spirits into aoe.

I like spirit spamming, but it's true its not so strong.
but as a Rit beginner build?
It will work, being hybrid takes more practice

If you want a pet class, go to ranger or stick with necro. Spirits I hardly consider "pets." At least your Tiger named FluffyNab can last longer then a Spirit named Life. >_> Plus, ritualist isn't a "oooiplayedaritfor1weeknowimpro" kind of class. You need to have time to spend on it. Making a picture perfect build for them can take a while.(Especially since we just got two of our top 10 non elite skills nerfed for PvP.) I only use Spirits in a Mission where the majority of it takes in one place only.

Spirit spamming is very easy. It's not good, but its really easy. It would be good to take advantage of Vampiri -afdfjalkdj spirit and Summon Spirits.
