Vanquishing and Cartography in Cantha

I recently just exploded into acquiring titles for the purpose of achieving a title in the Maxed Titles.

I am thinking about attaining the Canthan Vanquisher title as well as the Canthan Grandmaster Cartographer. However, I want to attain this on my Dervish character. Now this would be a heedless gogo title get if it were any other profession. The reason I decided to do so was because Cantha is claimed to have small maps and only 33 areas to Vanquish. I find this an easy opportunity to get both Canthan Vanquisher and Canthan Grandmaster Cartographer at the same time.

What I am worried about is what Cantha will have to offer to a Dervish. There are no Dervish skills to be attained in Cantha nor Tyria. There are no scythes, armour (Dervish), etc in Cantha. Will a foreigner like me be accepted into Vanquishing groups?

Just did a count here: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Vanquisher#Factions. It seems I can't get 33 areas vanquished without having access to Shing Jea Island. Is this viable for foreigners from other continents?

first off. most vanqs in cantha you can hero hench. you dont really have to worry about getting into vanq groups...and vanq groups are hard to come by because most people do it with buds or guildies.

Cantha has nothing to offer you skill wise...but you will make faction towards lux and kurz titles as well as make a bit of gold along the way...and dont forget, you get the pretty titles under your name.

And yes you can get to faction's shing jea island by going to the market place and walking to the docks (exact area name im not sure off the top off my head) and talk to one of the guys there and he will ferry you over.

Hm, I guess I'll be shouting for a lot of VQ's in my Alliance chat, huh?

Oh yes, those little allegiance thingies. I've been wanting to do some FFF for my Kurz secks-buddies.

I thought people who traveled to Cantha from other continents could not gain access to Shing Jea Island. ;o

If you want Vanq, Guardian, Protector, Cartographer, etc........then you will be spending some time on Shing Jea Island because there is no way to complete those titles without going there.

Getting there:

Prophecies or Nightfall campaign characters have to take a ship from the Kaineng Docks on the Cantha mainland (talk to First Mate Xiang).

Cantha was the first one i did and i enjoyed it the most, i think his "Have fun" comment should be directed at Elona. Now there was a bore!

As stated before Cantha hasnt got much to offer for your derv, but that shouldnt stop you doing it.

yeah i am currently on my way to Cantha vanquisher and cartographer.
It actually is really easy, and fun.
Plus when you do get faction, your also boosting your allegiance title, if you so choose.

My kurz title has gone up since vqing.

They at least made vanquishing Cantha more appealing with it now adding faction. I think that when you start vanquishing Tyria is when you will get bored. Lots of maps, you may have a difficult time vanquishing Majesty's Rest with a D/any (Rotscale). I'm not looking forward to any of the Tyria Vanquishing, from the other forum post it seems pretty boring.

If it's boring it's because there's just so much of Tyria. Apart from Rotty, there are a lot of nasty places in the Southern Shiverpeaks to keep your interest up. Try vanquishing Icedome, entering from Frozen Forest...
