whats going on with that, please get rid or lower it, 10 minutes is way way to long to wait to send a couple of pm's

The 10 minutes wait period is a counter measure to the latest spam method:
create a new account and send 100 spam mail to different users offering gold and ecto for rl money.
We know the 10 min. wait is annoying and are currently looking for other methods of dealing with the nuisance ... please bear with us.

Well if it stops my box from filling with junk. More POWER to ya.

The game does its own style of this by the 24 hour ban action...So 10 minutes is fair.

It must work cause i have never gotten a RL deal..nor do I want them...

tbh ive been on here since jan 2007 and ive never had a single person or bot pm me selling/buying/linking to anything

Afaik, It's really only picked up recently. I've gotten one or two. We don't really know how the targets get chosen, it may be picking them off some list that you're low down on (the currently online list perhaps?). As Yang said, we're looking into it.

I did not get any spam PM's either (though other moderators did), but we have had far too many reports for us to ignore this. Hopefully another solution can be found soon.

Well the change is a bit sudden, but it had to be done. Personally I didn't get any spam messages, but I know a ton of people did. You can add more then 1 person to a PM can you not? If so send the same message at the same time. Failing that 10 mins is not really that much of a big deal.
