Shouldnt a winter spirit change the Burning Duration of RoJ to cold damage?
I would have thought that smite/holy and Ritualist Lightning damage fall under the category of elemental.
I was testing this out on some destroyers but it seems winter only effects elementalist damages..ect fire, earth, water, air.

Wouldnt Lightning Damage from a rit fall under Air Elemental?
Shouldnt Winter change the burning duration from RoJ to Cold damage?
Or is it because its burning from a smite skill, that doesnt trigger with winter?

1. Winter was bugged at some point, don't remember whether ANet fixed it yet.
2. Burning is not really 'damage' but a condition that causes health degeneration. The description of burning should be 'target takes 14 fire damage per second while burning' in order to Winter affect it but this isn't the case.
3. Elemental type damage from non-elementalist sources (e.g. rit lightning and necro cold damage) should meet the 'elemental damage' criterion.

Anyone know if Winter works with Burning from a Fire Ele?
Or is Burning like you said..A Condition and not Fire Damage?

im not quite sure about what triggers winter when it comes to holy damage.
but i would also assume that holy damage is armour ignoring, thats why its so powerfull. And changing it to cold damage would make it weaker no?

They fixed it.

Unless damage is fire, cold, lightning, or earth, [[Winter] won't affect it. Winter only affects elemental damage. Burning is a condition, like poison or bleeding. It is not damage.

RoJ is not, and should not be affected by winter due to a) holy damage and b) condition.

Burning is a condition, not a damage source.

Triggering [[Spinal Shivers] with Cold damage comes to mind.
