How do people make so much money?
Undead King Knight
Seriously i see bids for 1000ectos and more. It really is confusing on how they get the money they have.
dilan155
when youve played as much as some of theses people do then you too will be rich. things like rare drops and good GvG guilds have no trouble getting tons of money. also there are people who one do one thing, they farm farm and farm more. also zaishan keys are a good way for money.
Undead King Knight
Wow really quick response. Thanks for telling me.
Junato
Thing is you are at a point where you can only make money by doing quests.

I made my first million in only 4 years by opening Gates in Pre for 50G....or was that a dream?
Snograt
The richest of the rich got that way by power trading. Just like in the real world, buy low - sell high. And do it many, many times.
dilan155
as per snograt's suggestion, keep in mind you need considerable skill in scocialism and a very good knowledge on the prices of what you buy and sell, i myself have lost close to 300e over the years from bad trades.

Xunlai Tournament House.

Sweet more responses. Yes i have done the Xunlai Tournament House but i use keys all the time got lucky once with r9 curses celestial compass. Maybe does maybe ill get better stuff next time. The power trading sounds good, guess ill have to learn prices ><.
Edit: I does realized how similier my two forums were. If someone wants to delete this forum (or what ever its called) go ahead i can get answers off the one in farming.

If you put on your slumming clothes and ask about 4,000 people a day for 50g to open storage, you will be called nasty names by 3,600 people, and 400 people will give you the 50g. That is 20k per day! Never tried it myself... but just a thought.

One of the things I've always liked about GW is that you really don't need money to have fun.
I used to play another MMORPG that shall go nameless, and you couldn't do anything without either having a boatload of money or spending 99.9% of your time leveling some stupid skill so you could do a quest. Decent armor would set you back over 1 million gold pieces. Decent weapons almost as much. And they wondered why they had such problems with gold sellers. Their economy sucked.
GW, in my opinion, has none of those issues. I don't find any of it unpleasant or a grind. Exploring and/or completeing quests gives you enough money to get what you need for your character. Weapon drops are relevant and usually useful to a character at that point/level. Now that most of my characters are lvl 20, I'm getting excellent gold drops and great items from high level chests and weapons I don't need ATM I can save for either my heros or another character. Just from running around and exploring, two of my characters have elite armor, and although it's fancy, it's not required. My ranger has regular armor and that's fine by me, I'm in no hurry to get her elite. It's all very laid back.

Undead King Knight

D A R K S O I F O N
it's not hard to farm for gold. I simply do hm uw 55/ss way and hm solo destroyer core farming and in 1 day i can accumilate 110k gold plus some nice gold weapons and elite tomes. It's not hard to farm just have to have the right build and areas to farm.

Doing DoA or other intensive farms (keep in mind there's no way you're at this point, not to be mean or anything, just something to look forward too! ^^) with my guild, nets about 60k/hr+. If you do these for about 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, you pretty much net yourself a cozy amount of 1.5 mil (330 ectos) every week. Considering that's only 5 hours a day (4-9) you have time to eat, sleep, etc... and in 3 weeks you'll have close to that "1000+ ectos" albeit, that's reserving weekends for family and other stuff, but you don't even want to know how hard core farmers some people can be (14+ hours a day, 7 days a week, extremely efficient runs = 25 stacks of ecto/month)
Edge Igneas
If you are looking into simple farming you can find some nice spots and sell gold drops, 7unids = 5k. You can do Kilroy Stonekin etc, just that over time you will get less drops from over farming, Ecto farming in UW dosen't wear off really, but thats about the peak of advanced farming.
You can always do runs too, the most simple and profitable being Drok runs (which will only require a couple of skills and some practice) After simple town to town runs you can do Dungeon runs which people can even pay up to 15-20k for.
There's no real simple way to make money, you need to get used to it a little bit but its not as hard as it seems on first glance.
About capitalism you need to watch out sometimes, you get bargaining skills which actually help you in real life (wow) but sometimes you can buy something and it turns out its just one of those items sold in masses. You need to get familiar with items before you start buying and selling, (damn the person I bought he 13k Drok sword from -- He told me he had 5 more with a smiley face <- evil tactic, works)

Yeah, I fully agree. It's strange to see so many players who say that they need money and still leave their white drops. We should have bigger bags tho, in some long missions it's not possible to take anything without salvaging it.

If you want to get rich quick, buy low and sell high to Dilan. :-)

There are different levels to wealth, IMO. There's no point in being the richest of the rich - I usually think it doesn't say much about a person if they can fap to their asian minis in the Hall of Monuments. Not to mention that to get this way you usually have to get lucky somewhere along the line in order to be able to start participating in trades that will generate good income.
Decently rich people probably got there from a combination of pretty good deals/drops/PvE&PvP rewards. It's definitely comfortable to be in this position because it allows for impulse buying, and there's plenty of money to go around without feeling a real loss.
The last group I'd consider to be wealthy are those who have a reasonably steady income from some form of playing (HoH drops, AT rewards, elite area farming). This is the place you should start if you're looking to make money. All it really requires is that you play with half a brain, have decent social/grouping skills and are open to learning new things .
Also - the gamble on zkeys is almost never worth it. Remember that your trash is another person's treasure, don't be lazy - sell stuff!

Guys, cut the bullcrap...
Some of the richest people got rich by, yes, duping...
If 100 people managed to dupe, 99 got banned, 1 got away with 100+ stacks of ecto's...
Not going to mention names, but yeah, we all know them...
Lol, powertrading xD

Someone mentioned not being able to pick up all drops without salvaging, but salvaging can, in some cases, return as much or more of the original value if you are crafty. By crafty, I mean use the common materials to craft rare materials or consumables, or simply sell the materials to other players.
Neither of these tips make you fabulously wealthy in the thousands of ectos range. At least, not for a very, very long time.

Mordiego don't bring that here this isn't another why am i so poor thread. I asked a question i have not seen on guru. Also 1 last thing i put in Q&A because i want answers not complaining.
