Assassin Troubles
Jpc89
Hey guys, i'm new to the forums and to the game. I recently bought Factions and am addicted to say nicely lol. After 3 days of cramming I reached level 20 with my A/Me which I recently changed to A/Mo for the healing spells. I'm trying to find a combination that works well for PvE farming as I have several friends playing as well and i want to try and help them with some equipment and stuff after I get a good build figured out.
Right now I have all of my 70 Arm equipment with minor runes on them, i finally got enough money to buy the best sai i could from the shop and put a + 20% enchant on them. My Max HP is 480 and my energy pool is 30. i've been using expert salvage kits on everything that drops to try and get some decent runes out of them but so far no luck.
Attrib:
Healing prayers 3
Shadow arts 3
dagger mastery 11 + 2
critical strikes 12 + 1
Skill setup that I have now is.
[Critical Eye][Critical Defenses][Unsuspecting Strike][Wild Strike][Death Blossom][Golden lotus strike][Way of perfection][Healing Breeze]
Like I said I've only been playing about a week give or take I only got about 2k to work with any help would be awesome. I know your probably going to look at this and think OMG disaster zone lol so help me out

It's somewhat difficult to apply a farming build with only one campaign (assuming you only have Factions).
Runes can be obtained in two ways: You can purchase runes from a Rune Trader, they are located in all towns (in your case, Kaineng Center). When in an explorable area, runes can be obtained through salvage items (ie. Plagueborn Armour, Am Fah Cape etc.) though only if the salvage item is unidentified (font color of blue, purple, or gold).
As for the money, you may want to do some of the quests in Kaineng City, some cna give you as much as 1K at completion. Also as you go around killing monsters, pick up everything. If it has no real value at all just sell it to the merchant.
Instead of using Healing Breeze, you may want to use Shadow Refuge, it will give you a larger hp regen rate by +1 i think and you can then increase your shadow arts further. You may run into a problem with energy, I'm not sure, but you may want to use eitehr an energy management skill or a rune/upgrade component.
Hope this helped you out and GL

Dude if you can switch professions then get dervish as the secondary and make a Death Blossom build to farm with. The build is available on Pvxwiki as is most old school farmin builds. Read Alert !!!! Impending threadlock

I would drop Unsuspecting, its to much energy, and generally in PvE, with AoE going around, most targets will be below 90% health before you can hit them.
Consider replacing it with Golden Pheonix Strike, it allows you to start your chain with an offhand - allowing you to hit Death Blosson straight away.
Another alernative would be a fast recharging lead attack such as Black Mantis Thrust.
You shouldnt need healing breaze on your bar, if your going to use a heal, use Shadow Refuge. Then you should be able to put all you healing prayers points into shadow arts, if it still doesnt seem like enough, drop 1 point from dagger mastery.
When you mention about salvaging all runes, are you indentifying the item first? if you use an indent kit it will tell what runes or modifiers each item has.
Around the area you are now there are a couple of elites, Palm Strike, Shadow Form and Flashing Blades. Palm strike is common in PvP, and is generally pretty useless in PvE. Shadow form is a frming skill. And Flashing Blades doesnt see much use.
Out of those 3 i would personally pick Flashing Blades, for more info check out http://guildwars.wikia.com

The other thing is you should have more HP. Do you have Insignia's on your armor in addition to the runes? You should have some Survivor and/or Radiant insigs on your armor to bump up your HP and/or Energy. Just a thought since I didn't see it mentioned.

I've tried to adapt my usual flashing blades farming build to factions only skills. It suffers a little bit from having no [[critical agility] or [[golden fox strike], but it should work against most foes that rely on attacking. I use a similar build to clear all the tengu in Nahpui Quarter. You might actually have the energy to support unsuspecting strike if you drop deaths charge for critical eye (you could drop wild blow too, but it's handy against blocking foes)...maybe I'll test later.
Also, I sometimes prefer a faster casting heal, like [[shadow sanctuary] or [[vigorous spirit] but I surmise that you probably don't have access to these. Shadow refuge should work fine as long as your aggro isn't ginormous. Also, your health doesn't matter in this build as you rarely get hit, so I sometimes slap on two sup runes (of dagger m., and Critical S.) and us the extra points to buff my healing skill. Low health can also help if you want to run the build with a bonder.

Considering you've only been playing for a week, I'd say you are doing great! Regarding your salvaging, I suggest you identify everything (even the junk), but only salvage what yields a profit or gives you a material you need.
Regarding farming... feathers are worth an amazing 40g+ to buy from the trader, which translates to people paying up to 9k for a stack (250) from resourceful farmers such as yourself. Tengu have feathers... Factions has Tengu... you do the math.

i have an awsome build for an sin/ele if ur interested. It's way to overpowered and causes blind/daze/and if done corectly knockdown and exhaustion to your enermy. Work's like a treat in ab/ja/ and can be used in pvp if need be but not reli essential. Works well in pve though through proph ---> eotn.
