Hiya i have played a Rit almost 2 years and love to play a healer in Ra and AB.

With all the recent skill changed i find it hard to heal in Ra anymore especially after what the did to Weapon of Warding.

With monks Running Word of Healing and also the new Peace and Harmony i just can't seem to keep up anymore.

I understand that ritualists were meant to be support healers and not over-shadow monks, but i thought that energy cost and the fact that weapon spells can not stack was fair enough in the first place.

I know i could just change the type of Rit i play but channelings damage seems to be not very good anymore and also if i ran a spirit spam build you get hurled with abuse or so i have witnessed. ( I have yet to run one in pvp)

Anyone else feel the same as me with the new updates?

Thanks.

Anet has indeed seemed to have abandoned rits. Since the beginning, necros have been better rits than rits themselves in PvP.
The dumbing down of them in PvP has been painful to watch as well. The lastest nerf of Weapon of Warding was the final blow. Anet's hating on blocking is obnoxious, particularly since there are numerous ways through blocking.
The good news is that Anet is probably planning a massive buff to Rits, particularly in PvE. You remember how sins seemed dead after SoS was nerfed and everyone was denying ever playing one, then they buffed shadowform and now you are lucky to find a team in an elite area if you are not one. (I personally think they are hyper-overpowered but I realize it was a giveaway for those that kept the faith).
We'll see how it goes. They just gave some love to the eles and continue to make it up to the mesmers for years of neglect.
The only class that hasn't seen major fluxuations are rangers.

Thanks. The nerf to Weapon of Warding wasn't actually that bad, it only comes off if they attack something with a generic attack, or skill. Meaning can't use it on front-liners. Still something to sad face about, I guess.

But, I still heal in AB, it goes like this. It's actually kind of fun since Spirit Light and Nightmare weapon give a few moments to heal someone else, or hands free healing.

Restoration 15, Channeling 14, Spawning 3.

Spirit Light Weapon, Weapon of Warding, Nightmare Weapon, Mend Body and Soul, Spirit Light, Bloodsong, Life, Protective was Kaolai.

Gear is full Ghost Forge Insignia's (I think. Whichever gives +15 armor while wielding a weapon.) Has about 500 health, and 47 energy.

After 2 years Anet have finally realised how horribly broken Rits are in general. This has resulted in a vast majority of the class being nerfed because the whole concept in general was overpowered.

However that being said they still can heal decently but yeah, don't expect to keep up with monks. They still are though among the best Flag Runners in GvG, although we are starting to see somewhat more variants. I'm also pretty sure you can still find a place in a HA team but don't quote me on that.

ya anet realised a little too late that they hate passive defense and nerfed the crap out of the paragon and ritualist.

so ritualists are left with a borderline useless primary, and Paragons are left with 3/4 of their skills being useless. Paragons dont exactly have a stellar primary either, but at least it does something.

Yup, ritualist is starting to be like paragon. All paragons are really needed for is impagon, and pretty much any ritualist build now days could be run better as a n/rt. So yea life is just sucking more and more. I'm trying to make a team with razah and xandra but I keep finding my self asking what the point of them being ritualist when they can be n/rt (beside the awesome looks of razah and xandra.)

When a N/Rt can play a Rit better then a primary Rit you have a problem. A big one. You can't blame the public for their discontent with the Rit class.

So much PvP abuse led to Ritualist getting nerfed into Oblivion... but now that we have the PvP/PvE skill split, why won't ArenaNet just, say, make all the Ritualist's skills split and make them useful again? (Plus Spawning Power.)

trashed my rit long ago. fun class very different style of healing and support, but they just dont cut it in high end pvp or pve. rit flag runner is a disgrace bc i feel they can do so much, but sadly they cant.
