As you can see in the link posted above me, your Lucky and Treasure Hunter titles influence the chance you have of retaining your lock-pick

Edit: my pleasure,- good luck with the chests!

If you don't look at the % it won't break but use it fast. Sounds stupid but every time I look %, even with with huge chances of not breaking it, it breaks. I swear you get more gold from lockpicks too. Shame they're way too expensive though.

HM/NM influence too. If you use lockpicks on nm in gwen for example you have a way more higher retention rate then in HM. So if you are going for unlucky title go run chests in HM, for lucky title in NM, and for treasure hunter only aswell in NM as you have to buy less lockpicks then

You can buy lockpicks easily for 1,250g each from people that are in a guild that owns a major town. Since they can buy reduced price lockpicks for 1,200g they have no problem selling them to you for that price.

It may not "reduce the chance of it breaking" but when you do break them, they're less expensive to replace.

you can buy them for 1-1.2k now, as they seem to drop quite a lot for hard core farmers, and these dont have anything to do with all these lockpicks...
