Hi.
I've started playing GW several months ago and I would like to start HA. The problem is:
- Ppl there are looking for already (high) ranked players, so no1 will take a new guy.
- Decent pvp guilds also want new members to be ranked before accepting them to guild.
I have taken part in most other pvp activities, Im almost r2 glad, did lots of CMs, ABs etc. so I hope I have at least basic knowledge that allows me to start hightened pvp. But only way I could see how does HA look was "randomway" which was epic fail (pve shadow form sins, orison monks, etc.). Is there any way new player can effectively start HA which I dont know about?

Clone yourself. I hear the government of the USA is going to be giving trillions of dollars for stem cell research.

Other than that You can try and get others with the same ranking as you to join your group.

Or commit one of the seven deadly sins and Bribe someone to take you into the group.

My advice is to join a good PvE guild that has a few PvP guilds in their large alliance. Then, whenever the PvP guilds needs a few extra people to fill up a group, they might ask their alliancemates if anybody wants to come along. Its a great way to meet people and get your foot in the door without actually having to join a PvP guild (which often requires rank to get into).

join unranked mathways lichways and shitways, sometimes they win underworld, win underworld 180 times then you'll have rank 3! then you can join r3+ groups and have a chance at winning fetid river.

I am fairly sure this man is lying seeing as unless your are very good already you will not make it to HoH, and if you are that good I am 100% percent sure you would know that you get FAME from HA...

Try anyway. Be honest about your experience and get them to invite on a trial basis.

I would recommend you roll an SH (savannah heat) ele (look on wiki for mathway/sh ele) and look for mathways or other lame builds like that. You will get rolled by any decent team, but these will eventually gain fame for you.

You can also look in the guild recruitment section of this forum, alot of times rank is required but many times with intelligent-sounding PMs, leaders will accept you and give you a try playing with them.

Also, joining a large alliance is a good option; as stated before, usually there will be some pvpers looking to fill up their groups.

Good luck, and hopefully you will find HA as terrible as it is and look into gvg.

edit=corrected my mistake, thanks for pointing it out in such a mature and helpful way guys

also I realized I'm an ass for promoting mathway but whatever

Ummmm... shot yourself in the foot there a little. [[Savannah Heat].

Anyway, you're going to have to scrap and claw for r3. Reasonable ways to do this are (some as mentioned previously):

1. Guild/alliance group. If you're in a decent alliance, I can almost guarantee you there's someone with a little HA experience. Form up a group and give it a try.

2. PUG. Yes, it's hard, but do whatever you have to do to get those fame points stacking.

3. Pay for fame until an acceptable level. Pretty clear. Fame farming services are offered here on Guru all the time.

Don't let arrogant dickweed players put you down. You're new to it, you know you're new, so you know you're going to do some stupid stuff at the beginning. Realize that, and that lots of good (and wannabe good) HA players are rude, moronic, elitist moles, and you'll be fine to accept constructive criticism and actually become good.

You, really dont want to pay for fame...because when you get to r3 and you attempt to join a group, your experience will be lacking alot...stick to one class, get good at it and make some friends that you know are decent and try to just claw your way up. If you play with the same set of players all the time then you will learn each others playing methods and will be become better as a team. Rank doesnt mean skill it means experience and experience is almost everything in HA/GVG. Once you get the experience, theres nothing stopping you from kicking ass and taking names, gl!

and also, unfortunatley for you...you dont have the extremly OP builds like IWAY and VIMWAY to help you get r3, it definitely is alot harder to start now then it was back in the tombs days
