1. http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/f...play.php?f=234 Look in the farming section. Don't ask before you search.
2. Yes. People use ecto when they are trading for items worth more then 100k (100,000gold) since that is the most you can have on your player at one time.

Greatest advice for a noobie imo. Play the game at a steady pace, don't go after weapons worth loads Once you've finnished the main story line n feel you need some money, go over to pvxwiki, click great farming, and then look for your proffesions, and see what to do.

Just play the game. Go on Quests and kill monsters to start. Even in the beginning of the game, most monsters will drop a little something;either weapons, salvage items, or some cash. Also, Quests usually offer a little cash along with the XP.
It does add up after a bit...

Collector weapons are "free," and many are easy to acquire the necessary trophies for.
Crafter weapons are pretty cheap at 5K + materials.
Completing any of the games also awards you with a trophy you may exchange for one weapon.
You should be able to acquire a wand from either of those without too much trouble. For collector and crafter weapons, find your profession in the following link, and next to each profession is a link for collectors and crafters for weapons of that profession.

1. Get Factions.
http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Factions
2. Get yourself to Jade Quarry.
http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Jq
3. Play JQ for the Balthazar Faction, trade that faction for Z-keys.
http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Zaishen_Key
4. Open Zaishen Chest for Free Rare Skin Weapons.
http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Zaishen_chest
If you do this a few hours a day, you will end up with something you can either A use, or B sell.
Then you can look cool by flashing your Zaishen Emote

Thats what i would do if i was you, you might even get lucky and get and Everlasting Tonic that you can sell for 100k+xx Ecto.

Not stupid questions at all.
The answers too are simple enough in the beginning the only way to gain more than enough money to equip your character, to waste nothing and avoid paying for anything.
1 Pick up everything that drops, use what you can sell everything else.
2 know your collectors what they want and what they give in return, get all your armour and equipment from them.
3 do all available missions esp all those that are for secondary classes.
Do them all then choose your secondary class.
4 if you need to do a mission that requires you to collect something to finish the quest consider getting more than you need and selling to lazy players.
Don't waste XP don't waste gold.
Save your money till you get to the traders that sell the best armour then consider paying for it.
Farming for riches or power trading valuable items etc takes experience the right skills and in the case of power trading a large amount of cash to buy items for resale.
You cannot attempt any of those untill you have played for quite some time probably well after you finish the storyline.

From your previous post, I'm assuming you're only in Kourna still. You're not even half way done with the campaign yet. I would just focus on moving the story line along and beating the missions. You'll find that money's not all that tight once the campaign's finished.
I strongly advise against purchasing unique (green) weapons from other players at the moment, as you're money is tight and you may waste it or pay too much for something you really don't need. ...And Ecto should be far from your mind atm.

Always identify your "white" drops from monsters before you sell them to merch. Identification kit can be bought from said merchant. Light blue and purple drops are worth more, and the ones with their names colored gold are worth the most. Identify everything before selling it.

1. Identify everything.
2. Salvage common materials that are worth something (iron, feathers, etc).
3. Expert Salvage rare materials.
4. Expert Salvage runes/insignias that are worth at least as much as the item you are slavaging from.
5. Join a guild... not for free handouts, but for knowledge. When you find something that might be valuable, guildies can help you figure out what you should sell it for.

Also, clarification. When they say "identify everything" they mean everything... even white items. Even bows and stuff with no extra mods have there value increased via identification, often times to twice their value. So long as the value increase is more then 4g, the price for 1 use of a 25 use 100g ID kit, you are making a profit by iding. Only certain items can't be ided, like stuff monsters drop like fangs, hides, necklaces, etc and the game will just tell you that automatically.
