/joke command
Aciid Bu5t0r
For us unsociable people who prefer heroes/henchmen over pick-up groups, wouldn't it be nice if henchmen were a little more talkative?
What I'd like to see is a /joke command, using it would make the nearest henchman or hero tell a joke in team-chat. To make it even more interesting, they could be interactive jokes which require a yes/no answer. You would then have to use the /yes or /no command before the joke goes on
It's not really something that would add value to the game, but many of my friends think this would be a great addition

Or you could be sociable...
Need More Donuts
as you said this adds no value to the game
Be more sociable!

it may not add any value to the game but it could be a reasonably humourous addition.... haven't really decided whether I'd like it or not, but could be a fun option

Be more sociable !
I would love to be able to do that sadly, GW in my experience is one of the most hostile and antisocial games I have played.
I have my guildmembers and friends I met in the early days of gw and a few from other online games.
But have made few friends in the last year or two.
When you are insulted for not playing the game according to someone else's ideals and even get insulted when you try to give stuff away its time to roll out the Heroes and Henchies.
Maybe GW2 will find a way of attracting a more pleasant and polite player base, or is it maybe we have created a generation of intolerant rude antisocial people.
Yes to more chatty heroes esp if they use your characters name and the names of the rest of the party.

/SIGNED That is a great idea! First off dont listen to Gremlin or anyone else telling you how to be. You just be you. You can't force yourself to make friends with a bunch of stranger who are probably just pervs and creeps anyway.
The joke command would be sooo fun, especially if you are just shy. I can see it now..a yo mama joke.
type /joke Yo mama is fat I walked around her to find out I just traveled the world in 80 days!

Why not an new option in the General option panel?
[X] Enable Autistic mode.
This would make you appear in exclusive districts, and you will not connect to anyone, not even your allies, and you will appear as 'disconnected' to your friends.
Ha-ha...
Ahem. That was sarcasm.
The only thing I would like for NPC quotes is an option to choose between:
- Heroes and Henchmen say quotes, but don't appear in the party chat. (Like now)
- Heroes and Henchmen say quotes, and they appear in the party chat, so you don't miss them and can read them all.
- Heroes and Henchmen shut the hell up, so they don't bother when you are with friends and want to see only human chat lines.

I support the idea of more varied responses from heroes and henchies.
I do however stand by the statement that GW on the whole has an unfriendly feel to it.
This is simply because the few players who are truly antisocial and annoying are allowed to run riot and there is little any other player can do except keep quiet.
You cannot reasonably shout them down or out argue them or even try to reason with them.
Report them by all means but then you spend all your gaming time reporting idiots.
Then there are the players who for whatever reason want you to run their ideal build and have their choice of secondary class and use their tactics.
Sorry but then I am not playing my character I am becoming their henchman or hero for them to order around.
When the player base or the majority of them stop wanting to do everything their own way and take GW back to being a team game then we might have something.
So the problem remains how to find reasonable players outside your guild.
They exist I am sure but are lost in the crowd at the moment.

Would take a considerable amount of time and testing to implement this, even if it wasn't interactive. Would get old VERY fast, as there would only be so many possible text options to read. If you want to talk with people, talk with people, not a computer.

even though I play with people now I would not mind some more humour. /Signed.

Oh look, you are sociable. Go talk and play with them rather then trying to befriend a bunch of pixels. Trust me, they don't much care for any of us.

I strongly agree there... They CAN be annoying.

Binding spacebar to /jump would cause some funny sights when people fail to open chat before they start to type O_O. Nah this would get abused way too much... Wait for GW2 jumping :P

You know I heard people don't bite.

The /joke command will get boring quite quickly and will get annoying.
