Sab-Way not working :(

Hey guys, for days I've been trying to get my sab-way build to work. After many trials, It seems that I am not going anywhere. Here is my build for each hero:

I haven't given them any runes to add to their attributes, I wanted to see if the build actually worked be4 I did anything like that. They are also using the armor they came with. I will be trying discord soon, but if someone can help me with sab-way, that would be great! I'm an Elementalist btw.

What exactly is "Not working" about it?
Edit: I see what the problem is. Take off blood of the master. You WANT the minions to die and explode. Not get healed...

Might help if you told us HOW it was not working. Unable to kill anything, unable to stay alive? Where are you using it? Taking henchies, and if so, which ones? Just giving us builds won't help tell us anything unless you have a HORRID build, but Sabway is a build set that you can easily find on PvX or Guru with a little searching, so there shouldn't be anything wrong with the builds. Although I would make some changes due to personal play style, I see nothing wrong with your builds. Minor runes for Soul Reaping and Curses would be smart, and a Superior Death for the MM.

The General flow of it. When I vanquish in HM, Imps burn right through me like dough, and just regular HM vanq enemies like Mursaat own me. Sometimes it pulls through but that doesn't happen very often. You could join me while I Vanq so you can see the problem. I get pwned in the Ascalon missions as well.

I can't HM anywhere basically let alone HM missions. I vanq in Tyria. Henchies I use are Warriors, Thom or Stefan, Healer, Alesia or Mhenlo.

Take the 2 Monk hench if you aren't. If there aren't 2 Monk hench, take at least 1, depending on which are available. The N/Rt healer won't be able to heal everyone alone. In 4 man zones, you shouldn't need anything but the 3 heroes, but certain groups will not die easy, if at all (Grawl Ulodytes). Six man zones you would want to take Alesia along, as well as a damage dealer. And in the 8 man zones, Alesia/Mhenlo and Lina along with 2 damage dealers.

What about Imps and Mursaats, they kill me with their Degens

It also depends on what you are. If you are having large difficulty with imps and such, try bringing interrupts if possible. If you are a healer yourself. bring things such as [extinguish ] or other group heals like [divine healing]
Muursaat. Are you making sure your armor is infused? Without infusion, you will simply melt. Check to make sure you armor has been infused.
Careful pulling is also a help. If you can make it so that you are the only target, N/Rt healer and hench healers should be able to keep you alive.
Edit: Doh. Saw that you were elementalist. Perhaps go with [Obsidian Flesh] or other similar defense.

Imps? Burning is nasty for degen, but shouldn't be enough to kill you. If you have healing from the N/Rt and hench Monk the damage should be easily countered. If you die so easily to Imps, maybe you don't have enough health. 1 Superior rune max should be all you have, as lowering your health more is bad. If you have at least 455 health (480+50-75) you should be fine, but Survivor Insignias, runes of Vitae, and weapon mods can easily boost that more.
Mursaat only have Spectral Agony for degen, so if that is killing you, get infused. Even that isn't 'true' degen, it is a damage of time skill. The Mursaat Necros have Life Siphon and Life Transfer, but that shouldn't be enough to kill you. Hex removal and healing should easily counter that.

My current health is 551, ill put some runes on my necs and test out some skills against imps and mursaat. Could you come with me HMing and Vanq-ing so you can help me solve this problem?

Alternatively this is pretty good ele "healing" and should completely take care of all your survival problems. Although it might take a while for your warriors henches to kill things, esp without your direction, but at least they will trigger barbs.

if you're having trouble with the imps, micro prot spirit on self, flag heroes back, charge in and then de flag once they waste their inital rodgot's spam. Thus no massive aoe rape. OH AND BTW, give your heroes death magic runes and bloodstained insignia UNLESS YOU LIKE lvl 10 bone minions and lvl 14 shamblings, lvl 13 jaggeds + full 3 sec cast time. lower levels=weak minon army that gets slaughtered by enemies.

recuperation might be draining all of the restos energy. heroes like to cast spirits as soon as you aggro enemies. replace it with something cheaper like life or empowerment.

Yes, fortunately or unfortunately regardless of what build you copy from others you still actually have to learn how to play the game to make things work decently. Practice makes perfect so get out and play the game and use your brain ... you will be far better off then copying builds from people.... and it's more fun and something to be proud of too. GL... the builds are whateveryone has copied from sabastian there basically.

As Daesu said, your team build is way off from the original Sabway. While the builds can be tweaked for different areas or playstyles, you need to learn how it works in the original version before doing so.
Sab offers two setups in her original post, for 8-man and 4-man parties. And no claim is made that the team build is invincible in all areas. You might need to replace the SS with an interrupter for some areas.

also keep in mind the area you go into.. this build requires corpses... not just your own to work. be aware of the enemies you will face and if there arent many corpses...try another set-up

First of all u need to rune up your heroes !!! Every one of them needs HP rune (+41hp is best in my opinion) also they need "good" weapons (not just some crap u pick up from random drops) ! Superior runes are MUST for Necros i mean MM with 12 Death Magic is just not gonna work ! They need 16 to make a blast (i run 3 Necros in Discord build, with me as a main hexer (i`m Necro myself) it is amazing too see what kind of spike the heroes make when u place condition+hex on foe, it`s just seconds even for a very tough opponents! One thing u gotta know is that no matter how good necros are for hexing and MM or healer jobs they don`t stand chance against melee or ele spikes (AOE) so choose targets wisely and build minions before engaging any bigger group of foes ! If u do this u gonna rip through maps in no time and with little or none danger for ur team !

weapons are a big factor, you need 40/40 sets or atleast a nice staff for the right attributes. It helps them have energy in the beginning of the fight before anything dies, so like the resto has energy even after casting reccuperation.

i might have missed it but he never said if he was infused. that would be your main problem against mursaat. while it is possible to out heal the spike from spectral agony (i know cause i have done it before) its not recommended as it can quickly deplete energy for your healers. as for the imps just spread out and prot yourself first and aggro.

Reckless Haste in HM is actually probably just as good if not better in HM because it makes them miss, and the IAS doesnt affect them. They attack at same rate, but miss a tonne, how is that not good?

Sabway isn't working for you because you're an Elementalist. Sabway is more physical oriented and you are not taking advantage of it. Go Discordway instead and you should see improvements because that's more caster oriented.

When I run Sabway, I like the new Aura of the Lich for my bomber elite. I also take weaken armor on the Curse necro.
For groups of imps, I flag my party back, force my bomber to put prot spirit on me, then aggro the imps. They will all waste their Rodgort's Invocation on you. After that, unflag and unleash hell!

to be honest, sabway works best when you're playing a melee character. as an Ele you'd be much better off with Discordway/Rojway if you insist on running gimmick builds.

In any 8 man area I went into, I brought earth ele two healers or one and an rt along with tank if I wasn't one or interrupt ranger if I was. I use this build with all classes very well, though have switched to Discord build to try something different, then I bring mes, curses or blood nec, and make myself degen if possible (epidemic ranger is awesome). But either works very well as long as you know your limitations, no problems with melee ever, mesmers are sometimes troublesome as well as multiple healer groups, otherwise most groups get plowed through. Call targets whenever possible, to focus your groups attention or they will go after whatever is nearest. Rune you heroes immediately even if its only minors with attunements, and vigor as a boost. Go practice against ettins to get the feel of them, then go after griffons, then hydras, then hit shiverpeaks. By this time, everything should be clear as to how they are supposed to work.

I find Hexes hurt way more than conditions in HM and the combination of Mend Body and Soul and Infuse/Foul Feast would be more than enough, especially if you take the protector hench. This works better for me than the PvX builds but I guess to each their own.
I also prefer Reckless Haste over Shadow of Fear as I find the 50% miss works better that 50% slower since I still take Enf blood/MoP/SS for my marking and all the minions plus Pain inverter for bosses. I just cant stomach taking AP and 3 PVE skills as what’s the point in me playing a Nec?

I killed the fire imps in tyria by keep heroes flagged back about at the edge of my agrro bubble. maintian prot spirit on yourself by forcing a hero to use it. move up a tank them. I was an ele, so use either nukes or I sometime run spiteful spirit on my self, necrosis, blurred vision, maelstrom,paininverter, ebon vanguard assissin support, enfebleing blood with a discord heroes and hench. The warrior hench isn't so great in some zones. He runs ahead pulls aggro or when fightening verses rangers you need to hide around corners and cast to aviod major damage he'll run ahead.

Heroes often cast everything on the wrong target, Reckless is hardly an exception. And Blurred Vision is a great spell, it's just in a semi-weak line. Reckless Haste is a lot more useful against any challenging content than Enfeebling Blood, because it breaks chains. The original poster was complaining about dying. Telling him he doesn't need Reckless Haste in HM seems a bit counterproductive. Driv3r
Thanks for all your help guys! So I will definetly rune up my hero's. Gatta practice and get a feel for it and just try different combo's. I'll definetly try a support build for my ele and the Imp strategy, ty all very much!
