Well, if you didn't uninstall the old drivers first then you really messed things up.

You have to uninstall old drivers before you install new ones, they will conflict with each-other and cause tons of problems.

So, if that's the case then uninstall all your old graphics drivers and install the latest ones from the Nvidia site.
