I don't get why only the Transmogrifier tonics and the Yuletide tonics are allowed in explorable areas.

The models wouldn't effect gameplay at all. Sitting around in one spot, just to do nothing except to spam noises that piss other people off is kind of pointless. It would be more interesting if we could be able to use all tonics in explorable areas.

asides from the fact that you spelled "allowed" wrong twice, stuff like the yeti tonic would change the size of the model that the player is using and thus the animations would be screwed up for skills. Anything with a human based model can enanct the animations, anet didn't plan on yetis doing certain animations i think. (think of floating heads chopping at people with axes)

I am greatly sorrowful for my silly spelling mistakes. I did not realize that it would be such a big deal that you had to bring it up.

All the models a player can transform into have casting animations, I really don't see the problem. So you're a bit bigger? Nothing will change. When the floating heads attack, I think they whip the foe with their hanging blood vessels and bone. They too also have casting animations, it wouldn't be screwed up.

For example, look at M.O.X. The scythe you equip him with doesn't show up. It would be the same for all the tonic transformations.

So you would rather have people not telling you've made a mistake, and keep making the same error over and over?

OT: I'd like to see more uses of tonics. Make them usable in Explorables, but not in PvP.

There is no use for it.
When you start something with PUGs, you don't know very fast, whjich name belongs to which class.
So, you have a Ghost, a Yeti, an Asura an a likely Popcorn.
You are a Supporter, maybe want to use Splinter.

You want to get the Waarior and so you click on the Ghost: Monk
Next click: Asura, oh, it's an Elementalist, and at least you get the asuran Warrior.

Not everyone plays with group window.

Also, why do you want to change your looking?
Most Players want to show there Armor an Equipment.
In addition to this, Weapons are customized for each Size of players.
We still got clipping-mistakes with Spears, Focus' etc.
Now, can you imagina how big a Weapon will be in the Hands of a Yeti?

MOX isn't allwoed in PvP because you don't see his weapon. I don't think that you will see a Weapon when your are a Yeti, so in PvP these won't be allowed.

Guild Wars lost much of identity with the Tonics in Towns. They destroy atmosphere.

They should either make them all available in explorable areas or none. Not just a few.

Your post makes no sense! If u need to see what people are there is a nice party window defaulted to the right side of your screen that says the professions then the names.... And I believe the OP wasnt talking about pvp. Just general use when he is out vanquishing or doing missions what not. Also note: the reason mox is not allowed in pvp has nothing to do with the weapon being there or not. Cough cough rits holding items have no weapon visible. It has to do with his size. He would in both cases of gvg and ha be seen thru the bridge meaning that we would be too large for the maps. NOT BECAUSE U CAN'T SEE HIS WEAPON

I do not have a problem with this and maybe the tonic prices will go back up. I also believe they should reset the xunlei house tonics and not do the same ones again this year. Thats just me though.

Please read before you flame.
I said not everyone plays with group window.
Especially in PvE you don't have to open it.

ANet implemented the Tonics as something, to spend your money, to get more motivation.
The first two Tonics are old Tonics, now you gat masses of Tonics, nearly every Tonic is for weekend-players reachable.

Guild Wars has a lot of good looking Armors, why do you wish to hide them?
At least, i am against all (new) Tonics, they make terrible noises, they hide everthing.

I am very glad that is is not possible in explorable areas.
And there is no sense to switch off sound (well, i always play without, but :P) because a horde of stupid Yetis wants to make terrible noises during a Dungeon.

because there are logistical realities

-bigger footprints would mean blocking would be entirely different, and that would incorporate different game mechanics than have ever existed before. 3 MOX/golem tonics could block an entrance allowing casters to clear entire areas or rooms, so now 'lfg MUST have EL golem tonic' would become the norm for certain groups

-tons of new animations for casting and using every type of weapon, which would siphon manpower away from important thigns.......like.......GW1 content or getting GW2 ready for launch (you know......stuff ppl care about?)

-non-tonic people couldn't see what's going on by having their view blocked, lots of griefing potential and haves vs have nots, general degradation of gameplay enjoyment

I have a load of tonics... and never use them because i cant stand to hang out in a town and listen to Joe try to get into Julies pants...(its a video game for gods sake, Joe, your never going to get into pixel Julies pants. Give it up.)
If i could use them out in the (PvE) playing field, I would use them all the time. So for now, they sit in storage taking up space waiting for the one day we can actually use them somewhere else other then in town....or the guild hall.

The first thing you said is based on opinion. There are some people who want to change their look and some that do not. A lot of people, I'm assuming, would actually enjoy the sensation of going around as as a big Yeti or an Abyssal and killing everything.

Apparently, you did not fully read my first post. I stated that it would be the same for all tonic transformations as is it for M.O.X. The weapons would not show up.

And that stupid B.S. of sitting around in town making a whole bunch of noises is highly annoying. There's a feature with the Yeti tonic that if you /sit then /stand, he will fall over and make this annoying noise. Players do this over and over, and everyone gets pissed off. I just do not see the point of standing around in town with a different model. At least make them more useful, and allow them in explorable areas.

A great idea, could add a lot of fun, and a lot of funny screenshots. Also, people who want to show off their armor and weapons and shit DO NOT HAVE TO USE AN EVERLASTING TONIC.

Make it happen.

Don't care about animations, graphic glitches make the game more entertaining to look it.
