Guild Wars getting boring? :(

I'm absolutely sorry to say this, but for me Guild Wars is getting kinda boring.. which I regret because I love this game so much. I mean, I got 8/8 character slots, ( can;t buy new ones, got no credit card ) which include, A Monk, A ranger, A dervish, A paragon, An Assassin, A Mesmer, A warrior, and 1 pvp Ranger for farming the zaishen. though i completed all campaigns on most of them, and the game is just getting boring. I try to come up with good builds, which kinda work, but I got nobody to play with, since most of my friends quit playing. I really digg GvG, but I don't want to play with newbie people, although I'm not very experienced. I wanted to go titling in Pve, so I made a mesmer ( the one on the list ) to go for legendary survivor. done this 5 times since every time I died near the end ( 1.164.823 / 1.337.500 ) and It just demotivates me to go on.

so what are my options?

-become a stunning PvP player, but since I got nobody to play with, I'd be hero battles and RA mostly, also I'm not native English, so talking through voice chat in English kinda freaks me out ( although I can write in English quite good, imo )

- become rich in pve, but I son't think I really like this one, since the thing is for becoming rich, in the end it's just show-off, and what is your obby armor worth without at least "People Know Me ( 1 )" beneith it?

so I tried doing dungeons HM, which bored me ( since nobody wants to run balanced teams, and neither do I, but the farm runs aren't fun, it just making cash. ) I tried UWSC, which wasn't to exciting either, and FoW speed clears, which basically comes down to 3 tanks, 1 healer, 4 RoJ's. not fun -> just balling them up and unleashing heavenly light isn't quite heroic.

So any of you guys got any suggestions for me to do? because I begin to lean towards picking another game and enjoy doing the storyline for the first time ( remember? long ago, when you were actually interested in what happened instead op skipping all cinematics? )

so basically I ask for "what else does Guild Wars has to offer me?"

thank you for reading this,

that's just it, GO AND PLAY ANOTHER GAME, seriously the good thing about Guild Wars is you can literally put it down, and play other games or even leave it for months and then come back and play it again, No Monthly fee attaching you and making you feel like you have to play to get your moneys worth.

If you're bored, go and play another game, any game, come back in a month or two or even three or more and you will probably be able to play again without feeling bored.

This is the answer completely.

Guild Wars is more akin to that copy of Master of Orion II sitting in that pile of old games and less like WoW. You aren't tied to playing guild wars because of a monthly fee. Put GW in the stack, and pick up Master of Orion II and play that instead for a while.

Find something interesting to do by yourself ( I loved clearing Sepulchre of Dragrimar, sorry for the bad spelling), or find a new game to have fun. If you don't have any money there are plenty "free" MMOs to download.

Yea, you should try WOW, but without any monthly fees :P

I constantly rage on this game.
I get bored - I move on. Then I get suckered back to play a necro, only to be reminded why I almost never play a necro - and try something else.
Then I rage again.

lol, it's destined to become boring. every game becomes boring at one point. after years, it can wear on u. it's not like u can play this game forever. and u haven't even gotten r1 KoaBD yet? imagine how bored u would be if u had already maxed out all the titles! u still have a ton of stuff that u can do, lol. find friends to play with. join a guild. playing with others is what makes this game worthwhile anymore. lol

Ya I find myself at that point myself... and the only changing, interactive environment left to do is the GvG area... becuase these are either daily or monthly, however you want to work it... that and it get you in playing with others so it makes it more fun... if you are alone in this game constintly... it will make for a dry game after a while, (note: MMO).

What, so you can show your titles from a different game? We dont even know if you gain benifits from this... I want to play this game for more then some letters after my name... If Delver, Luxon, Sunspear, ect... which have actual benifits in the current game carry over then cool! If you can where your Great Great Great Great Grand Dad's Infused Obi Armor at lvl 1, Great! But map title? In a "Changing World" that takes place 250 year into the future? Or Drunkard? I dont see that as a valid reason to HoM. There must be more to it in a game where (at the point) means nothing to GW2 then a bunch a text...

Go get all the PvE skills for all your characters. I did it for all my 16 characters and had to play lots of polymocks.

The problem for me is not that I have nothing left to do, but that I have nobody to do it with. I wish somebody would do DoA, UW, FoW, Urgoz, and Deep regularly with me.

It does sound like a break may be in order.

The other option is to find a guild that suits you. There is a guild section here and on Guild Wars main web site there is information about different guilds.

Good luck and remember it is only a game...

What else does Guild Wars have to offer you? Honestly, from what you've said, not much. Even if you do find something you like, you run the risk of having it nerfed by Anet in the near future. Then you have the sycophants out there who cry to Anet to nerf this or nerf that, then are perplexed as to why threads like this pop up.

Beyond that, its pretty much a crap shoot for the people you find left in the game. You're bound to encounter many immature people and unrewarding experiences. Such is the problem with a no-fee game.

So, honestly, find something else to play. Unless you're into lingering around watching something that used to be good wither away.

Everything gets boring eventually. I'm going to agree with those who say you should go play something else for a while. There are thousands of other video games around and you'll probably get bored with that and have renewed interest in GW in a few months anyway.

You are one of thousands to come to these crossroads. The best you can do is find something to do in PvE/PvP or just give up on the game.

This game was designed to be PvP focused, so don't expect a lot of dynamics out of PvE after you've gone through it all.

I seriously think the best thing to do is keep a group of friends with a common interest and just have fun. I PvP in TA mostly with my friends and usually go after one PvE title after another once I get bored. I'm working on Vanquishing, TA, re-doing dungeons, and helping friends with HM missions.

I've been bored for ages with GW. I try taking breaks, but everytime I come back it is still boring.

I have tried lots of different games and RPG's, and nothing appeals to me GW initially did, and also like Morrowind and BG2, all of which I spent years playing.

I think I seem to be immune to whatever it is that used to make video games appealing to me, at least there is one game right now that I really really cannot wait for - Street Fighter 4, but it isnt released on PC untill later on this year.

I installed and started playing Super Street Fighter II and it seems to be entertaining me for about 30 mins a day, but it is so old and clunky that I cant play it for too long.

Tried searhing the net endlessly to find a copy of SSF2 Turbo HD, but it isnt available anywhere, all I managed to find was a petition to sign for it to be released on PC

Sooooo bored right now. Oh, I occasionally play a game of Civ 4, but that is also boring when I've been playing it for so long.

Meh, *Double clicks on SSF2 icon*.

Playing since retail release of Prophecies, I have taken breaks. Then too, I played WoW off and on. Always come back to GW eventually, though.

For me, GW is like the Hotel California, "you can check out anytime you want, but you can never leave!"

Variety is the spice of life, though. Even consider a new hobby that (shock!) does not involve video games!

You have 4 (if you count EotN separate from Prophecies) different areas to play through. Four different storylines. Even a couple missions that cross each campaign. Dozens of missions, hundreds of quests, over half a dozen different forms of PvP, and plenty of titles to work that require PvE and PvP.

If you are bored, it is definitely not due to the lack of content. It is you. Like some have said, take a break, or try something new.

This exactly. That's the greatest thing about no additional fees after the main purchase. You can just drop it when you're tired of it, just like any other game on the market that doesn't have a monthly fee. Take a break and come back, try not to play GW alone, have more than one game that's appealing to you so you can spread your time over all of them.

If you stick to one game for too long you're bound to get sick of it.

PvE is getting to the boring point for me, but I'm starting to be an annoying pest about getting my guildmates into PvP (well, beyond pvp-lite stuff like JQ and AB :P).

Anyone really bored needs to just stop playing, try something new, and most importantly stop hanging around the forums going "LOL DEAD GAME LOL GUILD WARS!"

Most everyone in this thread has already hit the nail on the head. Just take a break and play some other games. Guild Wars was never designed to be played constantly like an MMO. Thats the beauty of the business model. You aren't "married" to the game. You are free to play what you want. Your account will be ready to roll with no hassle later on! I never get busy do to playing alot of DS games and some other RPGs like WoW and Final Fantasy XI. Almost every game out there has a free trial. Download a few and see which ones you like.

Here's what you have to do:

1) Stop playing under the excuse that the: "game is baaaad!" (<--Reinforce that whenever you can)
2) Come to the forum everyday to bitch about how baaaad the game is.
3) Act snobbish to anyone who still plays.
4) Play a "better" game and let everyone know at every opportunity.
5) ???
6) Profit.

Or you... you could just take a break.

So what your saying is, no-one should have an opinion outside praising GW's?

I'm getting bored of the game too, the titles left for me to get for GWAMM, are so boring and vanquing the same area umpteen million times is not fun (NOT FUN!), I love the game though, I still enjoy shooting the breeze with guildies etc. & helping out, it's just more fun to do that than get titles for myself. If I'm completely honest it was titles that made me lose a lil' faith in this game (made it grindy and like I was playing Flyff again :P)
