The game works on instances, instead of being a persistent world. When you leave a town/outpost and go out into an explorable area, it loads a copy of the game that is just for you and your party. There will be no other players there.

There are 25 missions in the first chapter (Prophecies), yes. However, missions and quests are different, and there are hundreds of quests. Certainly enough to keep you busy with doing them for a long while. Plus, once you complete a chapter, you unlock Hard Mode.

Max level is level 20. The emphasis of the game isn't so much on leveling up.

There are two wikis about Guild Wars, I'd suggest poking around those a little bit.

this^^

also, you can get weapon drops and crafting materials while playing the game, but you have to have armor crafted by the armor NPC

You can only meet people in outposts. Once you leave into an explorable area you'll only have you and your team. Everyone gets a seperate copy of the explorable.

Nope. You'll be in seperate explorables.

Yes, though some explorables have merchants, and some even have material traders and stuff like that. No storage though, and you won't be able to wipe off Death Penalty unless you use specific items.

Missions are different to quests. Quests are done in explorable areas and often do not relate to the storyline (ones that do are called 'Primary Quests'). Missions are specific storyline quests that you start in a mission outpost that have specific mission goals (for example, retake fort x). They have no resurrection shrines so if you wipe you need to restart the mission.

Max level is 20.

Materials do drop (somewhat rarely in Prophecies, though), and you can also get them by salvaging stuff (armors that say 'this is a salvage item' or something like that give the most materials), buying from other people and from NPC's.

Afaik theres a trial on the official website. 10 hours isn't much, but you can get a feel for the game.

Skipping letters may save you time but it cost time to people that are willing to help. Yes, people can read phonetics but its a PITA>

I understood everything perfectly lol and it's never a PITA. I do agree that there are too many mistakes though. In real time (like chat/IM) though I think it's a bit excusable if you make mistakes since that's more about getting the point across and not taking forever to do it, but with forum stuff like this it isn't that acceptable since longer post times are expected and most browsers have spell check.

TRANSLATED FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T READ LOL:

If I am doing a quest with my party and another party is doing the same quest, can we meet during the quest? I can't understand this concept, please help me out.

Outposts are the only place to meet people and refresh, right?

What's the max level in this game?

Do we get the stuff for making armor while playing or do we have to buy it from NPCs?

I know, too many questions, but please answer me. I need to know everything before buying this game… as my country charges me double the price of the CD lol. I can't waste my money on something I don't know properly

Thank you,
Xeno

Anyways, getting back on topic:

There are instances to eliminate chat spam and kill/chest stealing. Plus the game will run faster having less on the screen at once (which also translates into less visual clutter)... plus if you had tons of people in an area, how would vanquishing and boss killing work? Unlike other games where things routinely spawn without re-entering, that would mean potential boss camping.

So no, you can't meet anybody on the same quest, except for special occasions one of the factions missions.

You can get blessings and find some NPCs that sell things in explorable areas at times, but unless you're already there outposts are the place to go for refreshing (and guild halls are even better since all NPCs can be VERY close together).

Those 25 missions you read were only the main storyline... there are lots of side quests on the side (lol) to play. You can redo most missions but can't redo quests (unless you create another character). You can also replay missions in hard mode and there are challenge missions where people try to set records (these can also be replayed).

The maximum level is 20. It is really easy to get to level 20, and that's usually when the serious portions of the game begin. Monsters and foes will be routinely over 20 though, up to level 31 (not sure if 31 is the max or if it can go higher).

You can get the armor materials from drops, collectors (they trade certain drops for armor, limitations though), or you can buy the materials you need from NPCs.

Where exactly are you? If they are boosting the cost maybe buying it internationally would be best if you can find a deal (hint: amazon).

You don't actually require any of the CDs. You can purchase the game online and just pay the normal price, though you will need an acceptable credit card.

If you have been using the free demo then after you purchase the full version online (which just means they give you a new access key to add to your existing free acount) then you can just start the game with the -image comand to down load everything including all new material that will not be on the CDs anyway.
