I am not new to Guild Wars in the least bit but I know all the things like Heroes Ascent and Temple of Ages dont allow any people new to it really get involved unless someone from a guild or whatever is nice enough to show you the ropes.
I really have wanted to get into some of it mostly for the trophy in the Hall of Monuments but I don't want to look like a complete noob because I dont know any of the builds and pvx.wikia. doesnt even point me in the right direction.
I have played for 4 years on and off but have been playing more for GW2 I mostly use my ranger and warrior character so basically I was wondering if anyone would be nice enough to give me the downlow on some of the terminology I should know especially for FoW and some builds i should look into.
p.s. all terminology things i have looked into never have any of the stuff i need to know lol so anything like build nicknames or anything like that would be greatly appreciated.

You will be really hard pressed to find a team running balanced.
As a warrior, it's unlikely to get a group unless you go with your guild. I've seen splinter weapon barrage rangers looking for Speedclear groups, though I doubt they are very often accepted.
Mostly you'll see PUG's doing FoWSC (FoW Speedclear)
The team consists of 5 monks and 3 assassins.
"T1" and "T2" represent two of the assassins. T1 has it's own solo job as does T2. Then there is the "main" or "MT". This assassin stays with the main group and collects/groups aggro.
The 5 monks consist of 4 RoJ/CoP. (Ray Of Judgement, Cry of Pain)
The last monk is either a HB or UA, though most people prefer HB.
(Healers Boon, Unyielding Aura)
I know the three assassin builds are on PvX.
For RoJ it's something like: Mo/Me [Ray of Judgment][Arcane Echo][Arcane Mimicry][By Ural's Hammer][Kitah's Burden][Cry of Pain][Reversal of Damage][Rebirth]
For HB it's something like: Mo/E [Patient Spirit][Heal Other][Seed Of Life][Infuse Health][Heal Party][Glyph Of Lesser Energy][Healer's Boon][Resurrection Chant]
Again, unfortunately it'll be really hard to find a group as anything but a monk or an assassin.
Hope this helped a little

You will probably end up using Heroes/Henchmen. I went through FoW on my Warrior with my brother on his Ele and 6 Heroes. It doesn't take too long.
Check the Warrior Forum sticky, and run either Dragon Slash Godmode for Sword or Earth Shaker for Hammer and you should do fine as long as your Heroes are set up with good builds.

Talking about builds and such:
How good are 6 Discort Heros and a player in UW?

If u go in FoW with war take Hundred Blades. It's like rly good. If u go with friends i would take about 5 discords and one support hero with a bit more hex removal skills (maybe expell).

Very rarely nowadays do people team up for a balanced like set up, so its best to go in with a friend with heroes or borrow another persons (should be able to pick some up for 1k in ToA, I do it quite a bit).
Most of its fairly easy, but there a a few spots to watch out for. You should be able to find a named map of the area's on wiki, so refer to that when reading this.
Skeletal field ("great battlefield" i think is the proper name) - flag heroes out, especially if using many casters as the skeleton dudes deep freeze you then cause mass interrupts. Also watch for overaggro.
Spider cave - careful for the pop ups at the end, it can overwhelm you if your not prepared
Burning forest - overaggro is very easy so be very careful, flag heroes out of meteor showers and try to keep spaced out. (probably best to clear the whole area out here for first timer)
Wailing lord/forest - Careful if you have ele aoe stuff not to catch the wailing lord in it (hes near the houses towards the rear of the area, across a bridge, you'll know when you see it) The ele groups here can spike you down quick if you just charge in, so make sure you can force a hero to prot spirit you.
a gift of griffons quest - this is where it can be easy to fail. You get this quest after doing the wailing lord, what you should do is take the quest and some griffons will spawn across the bridge you just walked over, in a corner. Dont go into aggro range of them, just stay as far away as you can. Then walk back to the area where you started out in FoW and kill all the newly spawned groups. After that, walk back to the griffons, aggro them and walk them back to the tower in the starting area.

Just take your time before you go aggro some groups, if you've never been there it can be weird - plenty of patrols running around. Careful aggro, the rest shouldnt be that hard. Bring some clovers and stuff
