Hello guys,

Today I did the Blacktide Den mission with my female ranger. When the character is wearing corsair clothes the animations of the character is different and I found it more stylish than what we have actually (ok maybe not when using preparation, but still).

I have no idea about how hard it would be to add this as random battle animation for female ranger or any other kind of character for their profession but what do you think about that?

I searched for threads like this but couldn't find one.
Sorry if my english is wrong.

I have a female dervish, but that's not the point.

NO. That is the WHOLE point.

Profession-specific animations are profession-specific.

You are asking for one profession to have animations of another.

That won't happen in GWO, where characters are supposed to look and move differently.

I didn't create a female Dervish to use a bow.

I wanted to ask your opinions about using other animation for characters, that's all.

It's just sad to see better animation with a bow on a melee primary.

Well that is your opinion...

Not everyone will think that animation is better than a female ranger's.... I rather like female ranger's animations and so would NEVER want there to be a random chance for that to be lost... or ANY way of changing it whatsoever.

I know it's my opinion, no offense.

My proposion would be an option to choose which animation our character could use, that's all.

I'm not saying that the current animation of ranger is terribad and should be removed from the game...

The thing is that there is no room for opinions on this one.
In battle, players are supposed to see a character with an armor they have never seen before and recognice it instantly.

They could allow characters to dance like other professions, but never to move like other professions in battle. That would affect gameplay.

Every profession should keep its uniqueness, or w/e is the word for that I love playing my monk, but some professions have better armors, I dont start a thread to copy those either. Neither as trowing my Male war in some female dress, just because I like that dress. Every proffession/sex should be unique.
What you are asking is just a wish for one person. Also what would your commands be then?
/bowranger & /bowdervish?
My command would be
/Notsigned, or maybe /Notsigneddervish

I'll agree that it's a little odd to want an animation for one class/gender on another one but... you could use your dervish as an arrow slinger. She might not be as effective (damage wise) as a scythe wielding Derv but I remember throwing together a Grenth's Arrows build for PvE for a guildie that needed to deal damage but stay in the back line. Be a little creative with your Dervish and you might find a bowderv build you like.

I always thought of something similar.

But what I wanted was a character build option during the creation stage. So That you could either have a fat monk, skinny monk, muscular monk etc. Then depending on their body would change how they use the weapons, ie a slim mesmer would be more elegant with a staff rather then a fat one who would probably swing it around rabidly.

Just a thought :P

Lol you go program that, I'll speak to you in 2030

Way to much programming for that to happen. Though you could bound it to tall -> more hp less energy and tiny casters less life but more energy. Would need to make 3 different toons of the same prof for different areas though lol.
