Why do people farm for celestial weapons in naphui/vermin?
I've been farming vermin and I have not once gotten a good celestial weapon.
So why?

They have more patience?

I don't think Vermin drop Celestials, though. Did you farm in Nahpui? I got plenty there.

Vermin drop celestials o.o. Haven't gotten a decent one yet though.
What build are you using for Nahpui?

I don't farm nahpui (well, aside from some random attempts) but I did the mission on plenty of characters and ran guildies through it. Goth both drops and from chests.

330Rt/Mo works well there. I imagine perma-SF with sliver or daggers should work pretty well as long as you don't go for the monk boss.

Vermin indeed drop Celestials, as do many of the foes (including bosses, believe it or not) in Nahpui.

Most of the Celestials I've gotten are from Nahpui *chests* rather than the foes themselves. Bring along plenty of lockpicks and open those chests on the way. Also, train yourself to look for creatures that are visibly wielding Celestials, as they are *prone* to dropping them. On that note, if they're carrying one, unlike what wiki says, they are not guaranteed to drop it. The rate is astronomically high though. Shields and Longbows are most common and easiest to see.

As far as getting a good one, it takes patience. The best one I ever got was from a Vermin, r9 15^-5 Sword, but that was likely pure luck. I've gotten plenty of 10k+ Celestials from Nahpui.

I can confirm what FengShui said. Did like 20 vermin runs in xaquiang skyway, got about 10 celestial weapons. 9 were merch crap and then a sword r9 with 15^50.
I did nm, and got celestials both from chests and vermins, the sword was from a vermin.

Because the only places that Celestial Weapons drop are:

Nahpui Quarter (explorable and Mission)
Xaquiang Skyway
Zaishen Chest

I solo the Nahpui Quarter Mission in HM w/ my Monk, got my wife a decent high-req Celestial Staff tied to Fire Magic, and my Monk got himself a nice Divine Favor Cele Staff which he uses to farm the mish! Nothing insanely great though, most of the req9 max stuff I get tends to have 1 under max for 14^50 or 14 in stance, or have a dual attribute, like a Resto Staff with HCT Blood Magic, for instance.

Celestial Staves and Scepters don't drop with Soul Reaping, ever.
Please post a picture or pm me, I'd even pay you just to see it ingame.
EDIT: lewis91 pm'ed me, and it was req9 Blood Magic ^^

It might not have been Restoration req take me, but it was a Rit req with a HCT Blood "inscription" bonus (of course, non-inscribable, but that is where an inscription would have been, easiest way to describe it) high req at that, so it got Merch'd. No SS, but then again, I wasn't exactly paying attention to more than "single attribute/dual attribute, trash/treasure" kind of mentality (if it were a decent dual attribute, I would have kept it, but as I said before, it was utter merch-trash).

Naphui Quarter is great for celestial drops, but most of the time it is just bows. Good thing about this place, If you see someone holding a celestial Bow in hand, it will drop everytime you kill them... Sometimes happens with shields and axes also. It is a great place to farm celestials, but can be frustrating to solo farm sometimes. If you have a buddy to farm with you, dualing would be quickest and most effective there.

The one place I really liked to farm for celestial drops, and is one of my favorite farming places for A/E Sliver build, is farming the Mantids in Wajjun Bazaar just outside exit of Naphui Quarter. You can easily gather them up in two different groups because of their range of attacks, short and long range... There are monks in the groups which can easily out heal your damage if there isn't enough attacking, so best thing to do is kill the monk groups off first by using the necro groups attacks to power your Sliver enough to kill every single monk off, then turn around and kill off the Necros. Be sure to avoid the Wells since they can drain you energy... All you have to do is stand outside of the Well, or pull the enemies to a different spot to avoid the well. Make sure to let your energy gain up a bit before going in after the necros again. One skill I use that really really helps farm these guys quick enough, is Viper's Defense. Poison the Necro groups first thing, then use your sliver, when sliver is finished, use Viper's Defense again while Sliver and SF recharge, while letting your energy regen up for another round. These mantids can drop a decent amount of celestial weapons sometimes. I've farmed more celestial Axes and Swords from this spot than any other place, including Naphui Quarter and Vermins. I usually didn't get much drops from vermins myself, and never really bothered to farm them that much. But yeah, check out this place, its really quick, fun, and can be profitable. Lil' Tip - If you don't see any golds dropping, try switching District or Territory such as International, or any other country. I usually do this until I see some golds drop in either the very first run of being in that district, or atleast withing 2-3 runs, if I don't get anything, I go to different District and repeat until I hit alil gold mine. I usually farm in International District more than U.S. myself, I found it to be way more productive farming wise, but of course alot of times U.S. would produce more golds also, so its good to alternate between them while farming a certain area. ENjoy!

Here is video that has the Mantids farm included: (46 seconds in)

I farm Naphui in NM on my Ranger, still working on a HM solo for him (if Only I could have 9 skills or two Elites, lol)

When Factions First came out I for a Req8 +5 Energy Celestrial Longbow that was 14-28 Damage and I've been trying to duplicate that ever since. I can say that EVERYTIME the Tengu has been holding a Celestrial Weapon it has dropped it when it died. I'm also trying to get a Crelendated Sword formt here, I've only had a couple Golds drop, both crap moded, so I REALLY need to get a HM build up and running.

Chest are poop in NM, but I Lock Pick them anyway for the Lucky/Unlucky points.

"Pre-nerf" is incorrect. It's pre-buff.

I run something like that for Vermin farming in Xaquang Skyway. ^

I run past all of the mobs of 3 or 4 and rest at the res shrine. With practice, you won't need SF to run to the shrine although sometimes it's necessary because the vermin are blocking the paths.

If you wait a few seconds the Vermin on the 'bridge' that leads in to Shreader's vermin cave will move out of the way at which point you can run in and aggro as many Vermin as you can see. Hit Shadow Form followed by Sliver Armor and EBSoH and Shreader will die first. Re-use your skills when necessary, as they will be recharged by the morale boost.

This will kill about 80-90% of the vermin in the cave which is kinda scrappy but it's fast and easy to rinse and repeat. I devised this sort of accidentally when I was chest running for celestial stuff (using a loads of runnung and healing skills) and I thought it could be more financially viable to farm while I'm opening chests, so I added the damage spells.

I solo farm HM mission with a 55 Mo/N. I wish i knew how to do the cool skill things, but i dont, so here is the build in text: OwQEQcjO+3oCzE7j6BIRfIPCDA

12 Blood Magic, 11 Healing Prayers, 12 Smiting Prayers, 10 Protection Prayers

Skills: Spoil Victor, Vampiric Gaze, Smite Healing, Mark of Protection, Healing Breeze, Essence Bond, Balthazar's Spirit, Necrotic Transversal

The key with this build is to avoid groups with a star light and a star blade as nightmare weapon will blow right through your enchantments. Any other group containing a star light can be handled by pulling the group so that they are hitting a wall instead of you, and casting smite healing on the star light and killing it first. Spoil victor drains health even if you are not actually hit with the attack, so nightmare weapon will never actually hit your enchantments. It is also useful to remove essence bond and Balthazar's spirit once you are behind the wall, for more energy.

Any other groups can simply be handles as a normal 55 would, as the warriors and rangers pose no threat to you.
Use necrotic traversal to jump past groups that contain enemies you cannot kill, I usually take the leftmost portal as there are multiple directions in which you can proceed.
Overall works well and nets a decent number of celestials and lots of feathers.
Good luck!
