hi people
been trying to connect to GW for the last 2 hrs but keep getting error 005.
it says network error possibly caused by routing issues or server network failure. i read up on error 005 for an answer nd tried reinstalling the game but its just the same. anyone else having the same problem connecting?

Yep, using BT Home Hub

FYI, many Broadband and line faults are occuring for BT customers this week, particually around East/South London and moreover Kent. This was because of a MBORC, aka "serious incident" that happened in Illford earlier this week.
Hope this information helps, well... not really helping your problem, just stating the problem.

I've had an unusual number of drops this past week, but I'm not sure how that would cause the current issue. I can connect to non-European districts in GW, but not European ones or my Guild Hall.
Besides, I'm down in Cornwall.

Same issue for me, 005 BT Homehub
Past week has been awful, and not just connection dropping, also extremely laggy/rubbering.
South Wales, so quite far from Illford.

You got those quotes the wrong way round. I'm in Cornwall, Riven is in South Wales.

I lagged and then crashed this afternoon and couldn't get back in as it gave me a 005 code.
The crappy support page is here - http://help.ncsoft.com/cgi-bin/ncsof...p?p_faqid=2438
Googling shows this has been a problem since 2006 and there isn't anyone who I can find that has posted that they got it resolved.
I reinstalled and it still didn't work so I rang BT Broadband and they set up a new router instruction using the TCP codes on the support page and it has worked. I am fine with software and hardware but networks are past my sphere of interest.
It is still lagging and I am getting an average of 5000 ping, so have given up trying to play.
It can't be all of our connections even though I am in Kent so it must be the server side.

This is the report for the Ilford fault - http://aaisp-btmso.blogspot.com/2009...rt-ilford.html - but I have not noticed any problems apart from today and have been able to play all week with no problems.
