Custom Runner's Interface

Hi m8's. First of all i'm portuguese (so i could write something wrong in english)

I'm here to talk about one thing that can be one of the worst things that could happen to runners like:

-Non Paying for the run after completed;
-Leeching.

And this could happen several times like if you're doing CoF run and 2 guys after runned don't pay is less 4k +-. And think this happening several times. I'm not a runner but all the times i got a run there were some of these cases. So Anet should develop a system for runners. One system that is easy to the runner and to the others.

A New Running Interface.
-An interface that is controlled by the party leader (RUNNER)

In this Interface you could decide the specif ammount of the run and divide it trough portals. Eg.: CoF has 3 stages so it could be: after running the first stage the system will automatically take like 400g. In the second 600g and in the last one like 1k (these values are decided in an outpost and cannot be edited)

Formation of the Party/ Running Decision

1. A runner goes to an outpost that he pretends to start the run.
2. Open the Runner's Interface.
3. Edit text +- like the WTB/WTS and this text will appear in the Search icon. Ex.: (LA runner 1.5k)/(CoF Runner 2k HM).
4. establish a price for each part of the run (like i said above - 1st portal -400g/2nd portal-600g/etc)
5. Once established the prices u could save it just like a profile (if you want to do more and more runs) so you could just load a specific profile instead of doing and editing all again.
6. Players that want get runned go to Search icon and see the text (LA runner 1.5k)/(CoF Runner 2k HM) and join him.
7. when they join the Runner's Interface will open to them (but they cannot edit it) and they see the prices of the run through the stages.
8a. If they agree there will be an icon at the end of the interface that says Accept and he continues on the party.(another confirmation will come after clicking accept)
8b. if they disagree there will be an icon at the end of it to Leave (another confirmation will come after clicking Leave)

When the runner pass through the first stage the players will automatically give him the money that was established for the first stage.

9. If it's like a Dungeon Run (chest) or a run that doesn't have an intermediate outpost and the runner fails all the money given to him will back to the party members. In the case of the Chest the money is given to the runner after opening the chest.

Anet does not support "running". You do so at your own risk. If you get scammed/leeched, too bad.

And even if they did support runs, this would be sooo far down the priority list.

maybe u right. but anet needs to somehow perform runs and ban leechers. the WTS/WTB search update has perfomed somehow the trades. why dont develop a system for runnings. It will be easier and faster.

Owch no, think about it when your actually just in a party, loosing money to the party leader no thanks...

How about a vote kick, if theres 1 guy leeching not paying before boss, vote kick, if 60% of the team vote, then bb leecher.

Fyi running isn't supported at all by the GW team. And sorry to say that's an utter waste of dev time.

Play the game how it is supposed to be played (i.e. don't run)

This idea is interesting, but I don't think it would be a good idea; it would afford the opportunity for scamming on the part of the party leader. I also think anything that makes it so you would loose money from your inventory automatically is a bad thing. While you would be agreeing to pay these specific amounts by joining the party in the first place, there still needs to be some confirmation whenever money changes hands, and in that case it would be easier to just pay as normal.

I do think it's an interesting idea however. Since Arenanet did build running in as a feature of their games (I would link to that source but GameAmp is dead), there's the possibility that they might add in some things to solve the issues that prompted this suggestion. However I think having a majority vote-kick option would be better than a completely custom runners interface.

And the way the game is supposed to be played is however you see fit (as long as it doesn't adversely affect others), not to fit into the whims and ideas artificially imposed by a few prudes. >_>

One thing you dont realize is that running is not supposed to be part of the game it was introduced by players to make everything quick and easy, therefore anet shouldent do anything about it.

ANet neither supports nor discourages running. They know it will happen, but they do not supervise any player actions taken in order to do so.

As a few posters have already stated, you perform running as a service at your own risk. If the risk is not worth the possible reward, don't do it, and don't try to lay it down @ the developers' feet as "their problem" or something that "they should do because it happens in their game".

ArenaNet is against running.

They don't bother actually punishing it because that would be practically impossible, but ArenaNet will try to prevent it as much as they can (note each campaign reduced its potential) and will not help runners.

there are other things in the game that are much much more important like fixing the report system so leachers and botter get dishonnor instead of the people reporting them.

Interesting idea and well thought out. Other than one small problem, the live team does not have the time or support to make it happen. Personally, as a runner, I would rather not see this happen.

So because there is a trade interface, there should be a run one?

Anyone remember droks run several years back? The zone went through a whole bunch of anti-run changes. Just because Anet doesn't nerf it as they once did doesn't mean they will even consider extra work to help runners out.

Like others have said, you do runs at your own risk. I've done my share of runs back in the day, never complained a bit about the problem kids who don't want to pay.

Not the first time I see someone asking for something like this, and it's still senseless.

There are not enough runners to make this needed.
