Are Traps Physcial Damage?
ShootEm
The traps set by rangers, are they physical damage? Would a preparation such as Apply Poison or a spirit such as Winnowing effect traps?

I think there are different damage types...
Piercing Damage
[barbed trap][piercing trap][spike trap][viper's nest][tripwire]
Elemental Damage
[dust trap][flame trap][weakness trap]
Regular Damage?
[black powder mine][smoke trap][snare]
No Damage
[Healing Spring]
I think that's all the traps

Varies by trap. It says right on the description of the trap.
For example, Spike Trap says right in the description that it deals "x amount of Piercing damage," which is a type of physical damage.

Some ranger traps are physical, some are elemental. Barbed trap, for example, does piercing damage (a type of physical.) Flame trap, on the other hand, does fire damage (a type of elemental.) Some traps do no damage but just inflict conditions.
Apply Poison won't affect traps - that works on weapon (any martial weapon, not just bows) attacks.
Winnowing's damage bonuses should trigger on trap damage, again as long as the trap is doing some type of physical damage.

Note that, while skills like Apply Poison won't affect your traps, wielding an appropriately modded bow (Crippling, Barbed, etc) will affect the duration of the conditions you inflict with your traps.

The bonus damage from [[Piercing Trap] is also physical damage, last time I tested. Description does not specify type, but it's probably piercing as well.
You can increase damage from the physical traps with [[Winnowing], [[Mark of Pain], [[Barbs](eh, why bother?), etc. [[Brambles] will add damage to [[Spike Trap] or [[Tripwire] whenever they're knocked down. [[Ebon Battle Standard of Honor] will add bonus damage from the physical or elemental traps if you are standing inside the ward when the traps activate. [[By Ural's Hammer] will multiply damage from all the traps if it's in effect when the traps activate.
