GW beta key and ingame item

I found a couple of preorder gw package (original gw). and i was wondering if it was actually worth anything. My store has a few of them so i opened it and it said it was for the beta weekend and exclusive ingame item. Is it actually worth anything or should i just junk it with the rest of the stuff?

It depends which item it is for. There are some awesome items like the chimeric prism or the canthan targe. Those are awesome. Any of the prophecies preorder weapons are pretty rare nowadays.

The preorder items are bunk. They aren't max, have very high requirements, and the requirements for multiple bonuses don't match. I have a Canthan Targe, and other than spamming it to make people ask wth is that, they are useless.
By far the nicest bonus of Proph CE is Divine Aura.
I believe those boxes have gone for a nice premium on Ebay since they've been out of production for so long (Proph CE).

Like the other replies say, yeah, they might be worth something on auction. If you're not from one of the specific listed stores on the wiki page, you'll probably need to figure out which of the pre-order items they unlock. That means you'll have to use a key on an existing Guild Wars account and run /bonus to see what you get. That particular key is then used up, but you'll have a better idea what the remaining ones will do.
I'd suggest using the one from the box you already opened. You'll need your own GW account or a trusted friend's to test it out. (The way your post reads, I'm not sure if you play GW or not.)

I've seen them go on ebay for as much as $50. But typically they end at less than $20. I haven't seen any on there for a while though, so you may be able to get more for them. When I first started looking for the ones I was missing, Censors Icon was everywhere, you could easily buy it for $5 or less. The Bone Idol always seemed to go for a bit more. I can't say I've ever seen the War Pick or Ithas Bow on ebay at all though.

I just checked with my boss and he said that we got them from either gamestop or eb games because we were sponsored by them once before but he was unsure. So i'm going to put up 3 on ebay and the opened one i'll give away here.

You can tell which preorder item it will be by the box. It will say what store it is from. IF it doesn't say what store it is from that means it is the CENSORS ICON.....................
So..... People who think they MIGHT get the canthan targe or the Chimeric Prism are pretty much out of luck... and are going to get the censors icon. It will say on the OUTSIDE of the box what store it is from.
I know this because I have EVERY item. I collected them all even the chimeric prism.

The Chimeric Prism was very useful for my warrior early on.
