Feathered Avicara Scalps? Ehhh, that's not terrible. And I've been through Mineral Springs more times than I can count, I can get to that area in my sleep. Maybe I'll actually vanquish an area and clear out Tasca's on my way.

packrat to the rescue again! had a bunch in storage...good thing too since them avicara were stingy and only got 1 more from my hike there (and I killed the last 2 bosses just because I could)...now the ice imps dropped tons of frozen hearts so I hope nic wants them sometime!

I have screens of two separate occasions but you cant really tell what they're doing in a still shot.

Kill the first 2 groups @ entrance, head right, there will be 4-5 groups of purely rangers/melee there.
Then walk back to the portal and rezone.

Yeah but you can still kill the Avicara that are "friendly with humans", might be something more along the lines of gang rivalry before factions came out.
But enough with speculation/lore blah blah, why does Nicholas have to be so far out there? He should have at least spawned a little closer to the portal... <_<

From what I can gather, Avicara Tengu are especially vulnerable to lightning damage, so perhaps make a build based around lightening, or at least equip lightening weapons, or Ele spells.

Well i think a lot of people who visit Nic this week will see parts of Tyria they hadn't been to before. I think if they were going to put him in Mineral they should have put him on the ledge of ice after the Ice Beast through the Ice cave. That is something cool to see for the first time.

I prefer to go in guns-blazing, by playing my Spirit Spammer, using 7 spirits and Painful Bond to blast everything to pieces. The Discordway Heroes just speed it up even more.

I just been doing the 600 smite circle route right outside Droks in Thals Chute took me about 2 hours maybe less to get 15 scalp there not very drop friendly if you ask me. After that I just ran to the Traveler on my warr no problem. I did avoid the group with the Guile(necro) he strips enchantments too fast and there was never a Ardent (monk) in those groups

I'm just soloing the Avicara Brave/Fierce with my warrior (using Defy Pain). I get scalps pretty often.

You don't need 55 or 600 on a monk to farm mineral springs NM. Just normal armor with sup div, sup prot and sup smiting. 14 in smite, 14 in protection, 13 in divine and 1 in inspiration. HM is not needed to farm the scalps and it takes too long.
Shield of Judgement, By Ural's Hammer, Light of Deldrimor, Shield of Absorption, Protective Spirit, Mantra of Resolve, Balthasar's Spirit and Blessed Aura. +20% longer enchantments weapon.
They should all be death when the first shield of judgement ends. If one or two are left, just blow them up with light of deldrimor. You heal yourself with extra casts from prot spirit even if it didn't run out yet, just to get the divine favor heal bonus which is more than enough and there's plenty of energy. Stay away from groups with Avicara Guile.
When you face the groups of rangers you run a few steps back so they follow and ball up, then you run into them to make the use of light of deldrimor more efficient. You can pump up your attribute lines by using a golden egg and/or candy corn.
Very easy farm run to be honest. You should get the 15 scalps within 30 minutes max.
EDIT: if you have two accounts at your disposal, you just let one stay at the entrance so you can zone fast and don't have to run back with your farming character. The second account can also be used to run your main there.

Farmed mine with a couple of MM heroes in Talus Chute. Collected another 7 on my way to Nicholas in the Springs.

This was by far the easiest trophy to collect for my warrior. I used my troll farming build and the braves dropped scalps about every other kill. Took me 5 runs total to get 15 scalps with just farming the first two groups. Less than an hour.
