Soloing the first room with perma. Quite fast, aggro all room and kill fire/Saphire only. Did like 25 runs and got 7 essences. :s

Sheesh, these things are rarer than Rocking Horse poo. 600/smite and eventually got 10 just clearing the first room.

I have to say this is probably one of the hardest farms for nick that ive seen in a while, only 7 more to go >_<..

I don't get it...I got 12 or so in about an hour of solo farming with 55.

made a lot of dough.

sometimes 3 per run in first run.

What 55 build are you using zinfamous?

I made a hybrid 600/smite solo build that works well in NM, survives in HM but does not kill fast enough for me:

Mo/x
Smiting 12+1+3
Protection 12+3

AL15 - radiant/attune
hp - about 430 or so, weapon- caster axe and +27e (12e+15e/-1) off-hand

My ebon and norn titles are r1 and it works fine, but if you don't have pve only skills, switch out for scourge healing and scourge enchantment which i've tested and it works too Target ethers first and be sure you cast sb just before engaging them in case they get e-surge off otherwise just jesus beam the sapphs with finish him! to, well, finish him! and then sin support to mop up

I got mine yesterday, and I did pretty well. I got another keg of aged hunter's ale and an everlasting crate of fireworks among some other stuff.

Not sure what the H#&& i am doing wrong but I am soloing them and so far for 3 hours wurth of farming i have only 3 Bad luck at its finest

I tried this last night using H/H because drops are supposedly the same. I had the quest active and cleared the first room at least 10 times. I got ZERO essences to drop, not even from the Ruby or Diamond Djins. The only thing they ever dropped was 30-35 piles of Glittering Dust.

I use my ele because my Sin doesn't have the EOTN skills. Any solo builds that an ele with all skills can use here?

Used my Vwk rit and did 2 quick runs in the Hidden city for 6 of them , took about 20-30 mins all in i think.

So I figured - hardest drop to farm yet, presents are going to be really worth it this time, right?

Wrong.

/sigh.

At least I learned something - I really suck at 600/smite. No idea what I was doing wrong. Ended up just running the same ol' hydra 55 build from a couple of weeks ago - did the trick.

Not sure why people are having problems farming these, took 5 runs through first room of hidden city with Perma Sin and sliver.

Got nothing good from the gifts though as per normal

I'll tel you. It's called bad luck. Yesterday I got 3 in 2 hours farming alone, my partner 7 in 40 min!

We got from 10 gifts:
1 Traveler's Bo Staff
30 Honeycombs
5 Red Rock Candies
10 Bottle Rockets
10 Mysterious Tonics
5 Cottontail Tonics
5 Mysterious Summoning Stones

Happy camper here, made a fortune last days. My main as 800 monk (600 is too slow) together with my second account as smite support. 100% drop rate and cry of pain went through those djinns as a hot knife through butter, way better than 'Finish him'. 16 minutes a run (HM) to clear the two big squares (apart from starting square) resulting in 2-6 drops each run. Reminded me of UW pre nerfs. Btw, the Sapphire Djinn dervish boss might drop 2 essences when killed.

lol i gave up farming and traded aged hunters ales for mine and also the excess essences
i got ( 30 ) made a handy profit pity the presents were crap.
Oh well waits for next week and i think Truffles.

I ended up solo farming old school with my warrior West of Bone Palace. Used Defy pain with Ripostes and Healing Signet (lol) and got the 5 in about an hour. Alot more fun than perma too.

Yes bad luck , I soloed yesterday at least 3 times the entire area , not only the starter area, and got 3 essences ! 1 Per run lol , I am running out of luck

Today I will try again , just clearing the starter area. Wish me luck.

Truffles? Lord that would suck big time.

I am now keeping all collectible drops from any and all monsters I kill...just on the off-chance that they will one day be wanted by Nic. Demon Relics-I am ready for that one LOL

Edit: got 10 poppers, 20 rockets, myster tonics and summon sotnes this time around
