Have the F9 Key Open Up Equipment Packs Too.

As the title states, I think it would be a good idea to have the F9 include the new equipment packs and not just the backpack, belt pouch and two bags. It's always been handy to have all the inventory slots presented at once. It makes finding an item much easier as well as trying to sort out one's own inventory. With how it is now, if I go to press F9 and forget my guy has an equipment pack, I'd most likely waste time trying to find my gear.

Agreed?

You can still have everything open at once - just takes 2 windows.

Have F9 window open for all the backpack/pouch/bag/bag, and inventory window open pointing to the equipment pack at the same time.

They're side-by-side rather than just one long panel, but you still get all 5 bags open at once and can see everything that way.

This.

Anet/Linsey already explained why F9 doesn't open the Pack, yet.

I guess then it would be too much to ask to have the F9 key do that for you(?).

Sigh, really I wish Anet/Linsey/someone made info like this more out in the open and visible. I really dislike having to scour a wiki for one bit of info from a long list of conversations. Could you please post a link and/or quote from where this was posted?

Just make the F9 bags collapsible.

Double click on the name, and that part of the bag collapses. And solved, no more clutter, and you can even hide the bags you don't want to see, and show the equipment bag too.

That's a great idea you have there MithranArkanere. It would be nice to hear if something like this is possible.

It makes far more sense to have all bags out at once then to have them set for each key individually.

Also a great idea, in addition to the original suggestion. Gonna be annoying to be able to access everything except my equipment with one keystroke.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be nice to have them in the same panel - just that there's no reason to "forget" that there's another bag they may be stored in. Until they work out the technical issues, it's a usable work-around. You still get to see everything at once.

And the link where Lindsay spoke about this prior to the update is:

5th paragraph:
Quote:
You pay for the convenience of not having to transfer between characters. Yes that is a total of 9 tabs + material storage. For now, the Equipment Pack won't be on the F9 screen and you will need to drag your weapons and armor over the bag and drop it to place it in the pack. Yes I know that sucks, but that is the way it needs to work for now because of the minimum resolution. If we decide to increase bag sizes (which we would like to do at some point) we will need to increase the minimum resolution available. That is one of the reasons we went with the Equipment Pack right now instead. Another is that a pack which restricts what can be put in it does save on data storage quite a bit. Once we have released these things and assessed their effect on the servers we can evaluate the need or ability to offer more storage upgrades in the future. - Image:User Linsey Murdock sig.jpg Linsey talk 00:22, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
That came out when people first heard that the new Xunlai chest slots would have to be paid for...
