Every time I come back I see more and more things in the Cash shop.
So far nothing that brakes the balance of the game, this is good. But the way things are going I am very worried about what they must be thinking to do with Guild wars 2. I believe its only a matter of time before Anet becomes just like all others other F2P games, Runes of Magic, Requiem Bloodymare, Cabal online, Sure Guild wars is by far a much better game than all of those, but it also cost money to buy. Im not complaining, I have the money to spend on it probably wont because I play FFXI as my main game and this as my secondary however, I can't help but have that thought cross my mind after my observations.
Is NCsoft making the game more Korean Cash shop F2P slowly?

Hmmm sucks for GW 2 I guess. Good thing there's still Aion, hopefully they won't put Micro on there.
If people keep using the Cash shop on this game, and support it financially well, won't that only inspire NCsoft to make their games more and more cash shop driven to push their limits?
So in a way its kinda doing what people don't want out of GW.

They NEVER said micro-transactions would be in GW2. Another thing to take into account is that the storage panes are NOT needed by every player, as some said above - ANET needs money to provide some sort of revenue between now and GW2's release, and the Character name change/makeover thing - most, if not all, MMOs that use this type of system require a monetary fee for it(exception being hair styles in WoW).

Sure seems that way. However, the big difference is that all of those things are optional or purely aesthetic.
|
What I am worried about is if they will or will not eventually over time add Non aesthetic options to the cash shop...example suppose GW2 has a level cap of around 50, well What If they add EXP scrolls... or maybe they start selling Storage in a form of "10 dollars for 30 days to access full storage". I am not worried about the here and now. I am worried about what Iv seen the Here and now lead to.

Its a great game with good graphics and storyline to boot.
Anyone can choose to play Aion or any pay per month game but there are few that are as good as gw...and they cost, on average, $14.99/month which comes out to $179.88/year. Not a bad deal eh?
I'll prolly check out Aion but I like it here, and yes, I have more than one account and tooo many characters. Still a good deal against 4 years of $179.88/month or $719.52 over 4 years. Thats a bunch of goodies from the in-game store!
My 2 cent are now 5 cents adjusted for inflation

Wait...so, they're adding stuff to the store that people would actually like to buy, and this is a bad thing?
The day that they add something, anything at all, to the store that gives an in-game advantage, you can come on here and make with the b**** threads, and I'll gladly join in. Until then, kindly shut the hell up about them trying to make money with their business by selling useless crap to people who will buy it.

Yet another thread that proves people will bitch about absolutely anything. I've said it before, but for perspective, google "station cash". IMO Anet is being pretty smart about the way they're implementing this.

As long as what you buy there doesnt affect your stats ingame, who care if you cna make you ugly char look even worse than before or if you cna change it's name from xXx Big Warrrr xXx to something that sounds even worse.
Some of you whiney kids should never have left wow.
