If anyone has done it due to the recent update, do you lose everything customized to that name or does it change with the name?

The only reason to do this would be a name against the EULA, and I imagine that your items change with you, or the people Anet force to change names would be a lot angrier

I changed my assassin's name this morning through the new facility.
All my armour and weapons still say they are customised to my old name, but are useable by my character still.
So don't worry about that, you don't have to get new armours or weps etc, the HoM still works fine too

lol, yeah, screwing up stuff that's customized would be bad. if someone adds ur old name to friends list after change, is it still attached? prolly not. and if someone had u in list before name change, does it still stay there properly?

yeah it acts as if you've deleted the old character and made a new one (in regard to the friends list)
