Update a big let-down for anyone else?

i was expecting so much more, not " more moniez plz ".

no armour storage, no library for books, no stackable runes, no stackable mods.

Just pretty much, give us money and have a grind-fest for your equipment bag.

the storage now looks crap with unhighlited sections, its like, ooo look at all the storage you cant use, give us money and you can have them.

The ncsoft website is 100% unusuable also, so getting that free pane will take a while too.

No. I honestly thought it was awesome.
I pay nothing a month for GW, and yet, they still add new content free for me to use..why would I be p*ssed?
Yeah, I have the option to buy more storage, change my char looks and his name, but it's an option they're offering me, I don't have to buy it, but it's on the table if I choose to.
In all, I love this update and the only people whining are the people who expect to much/expect things to come their way for free.

I was not expecting much to begin with, but I think Anet needs to rethink the pricing. Since GW is free to play I understand the need for money. But I get the feeling that they are overcharging.

it aint a matter of getting stuff for free though, i mean things like runes stacking and a wardrobe to put armours in, would solve sooo much of the storage problem. instead theyve said a big f**k you, pay for it, noobs.

secure.ncsoft.com is currently holding me hostage. I'll let you know how I like the update when they release me.

I love it, and like that they kept a few surprises in there.

I liked the update. Lets be honest here. Nomatter what an update for this game has people will complain. Nothing new.

I was really happy with what they gave us this round, but not at all with the ones we have to pay for.

If you didn't like the game before update, you won't like it after you get extra storage to hold your stuff. I don't think there's anything else to do for me, but it makes no sense to blame the update for that.

Also let's be honest, no matter how bad or disappointing an update is, there will always people thanking ANet.

Of course I'm not saying this update is that bad. Just to show how some people will be grateful for little or nothing.

It kidna was for me.

Positive:
- I like the zaishen quests, but it's nothing new.
- HoM changes were nice.
- Haven't really looked at the Nicholas stuff but I suppose it's not bad to have it ingame.

Negative:
- The stupid amount of grind required to get one equip. bag.
- Weapons added to the HoM still can't be used by other characters on the account wich is something I really was hoping for, don't like beeing forced to customize it to someone when I would use it on other chars.

Stuff I'd like to see:
- An NPC trader for weapon mods and inscriptions. Seriously.
- Actual new playable content.

I feel that this update wasn't THE BIG UPDATE it was made to be. Couldn't care less about the menagerie, and was actually excited when I was reading about the stylist on the update notes yesterday. Until I saw a price tag of 9€ for a simple hair color change, then it felt like I got punched in the face.

its a big letdown for me so far. but i did like some of the feature. i hate you have to pay rl money to change your looks. sorry but if i wanna do that i'll either reroll my char or make another one on another slot. the coins? not good unless you can stack them in your chest.

not saying i wanna buy them from someone else;although thats sounds good to. but if each girl can do those zchallenges and get coins then how can i spend them/get the gold coins if i cant pool them together? the post gift giver is wicked cool i only hope they give us hints so when we have to find him for next week we can. the new storage at trader is okay only wish it was less expensive 8 chars times 2500g? ouchies.

the zoo is a 50/50 good/bad thing. i like how you can get put in any animal then another char on same account can grab that animal and at any level. but the unlocking part for the spiders i dont like. i will be the first to tell you and be proud of it but i suck in pvp. so i wont be able to unlock them that way with balth points so only other option left is the coins. but if you cant put them in chest does that mean i will have to wait months to get enough coins to get 5 measly gold coins?

Hmm i also hope they same some about the that fourth pane in our chest is soon and i wonder how someone got a mini already. so in the end i am liking this up date about 20% it will rise to 50 if and only if you can put the coins in your chest. i dont mind grinding for them but only if each char can pool the coins onto my one main char.

You need to start thinking of ArenaNet/NCsoft as businesses, not just your game developers. Guild Wars functions using a very tedious business model. While other popular MMOs such as World of Warcraft require you to pay monthly or yearly fees, Guild Wars does not and as a result the only revenue earned is what they receive from the initial purchase and the in-game store. This puts them in a very difficult position, as money is needed to continue running servers, pay employees, and work on future titles such as Guild Wars 2. I'm happy that they put as much into the updates as they do, particularly this one.

So everything they added isn't free, in fact nearly all of it costs more money than it should. So what? You didn't have any of the new content before, and no one is forcing you to get any of the new content. If you don't feel like paying $10 for more storage panes, then appreciate the free one that you'll get at some point.

Just to put things into perspective, let's go over what has been added that is free:

• Free storage pain that will take 5 minutes or less to receive in a week
• More miniatures on the 28th
• Zaishen Menagerie
• Nicholas the Traveler and his Gifts of the Traveler
• Equipment Bags purchasable at the Merchant for 5 extra slots, in addition to the larger ones obtained with Zcoins
• New ways to get popular items such as Tomes, Sweets, and Party items

I'm likely missing some things from the above list, but my point should be clear. Lots of free stuff, so quit whining about the stuff you don't need that costs money.

Already knew the storage was fail. Didn't know that this was their new attitude of "Nickles and Dimes a plenty"

I thought it was awesome that they finally gave us a stylist that we've been asking for for years. Screw you, noobs. Give us money to use it!

Thought the Menagerie was a good idea, especially for us completionist PvEers. Oh wait, Menagerie unlocks for PvEers are only for those who grind stupid Wow-ripoff daily quests for months (since I don't PvP, can't raise Balth cap).

Same with the Equipment bags. Anyone think we'll be able to trade Tourney points for gold z-coins instead of keys?

And a wandering collector of random items. Yeah, it was a stupid idea in the tiny area that is Pre-searing, but to blip him all over the world? Yeah, that's useful.

I was afraid that Anet was going to turn GW2 into a crappy WoW clone. Little did I suspect that they'd start doing it to GW too.

Wow, thanks for doing our thinking for us. We'll be sure to turn to you when we need to figure out our opinion on the next update.

I'll add something I forgot that should have been implemented from the beggining:

Party window improvements:
- Get rid of the 32 character limit.
- Separate tabs for Buying and Selling.
- Possibly separate tabs for different objects, like Materials, Weapons, Mods, etc.
- Also possibly, a quick search feature to not have us read through the enormous list in Spamadan.

That said I'm happy with the things introduced in the game, but I do feel it could have been much more and they could have taken some stuff to improve others.

To reply to the bold printed items:

1) high expectations are the best way to be disappointed.

2) we did get armour storage. It's called equipment packs.

3) not sure this is the best way to keep people from replying that way.

I was expecting to log in and get everything for free in 5min so i have time to post QQ threads in GW Guru!

Also the z.coins idea is stupid cause i wanted to grind 24/7 and spam "WTS z.coins for Xk" in Kamadan and make 10 new stacks of ectos.

I know of course that i am not forced to buy/get any of the new items to enjoy the game but i have to QQ anyway

Finally if i discover that the prices of e.tomes/party items and everything i have in my storage has dropped i will sue Anet for the gold loss i will suffer!
