I was reading wiki on trying to understand how to start any of the three missions. They all state Talk to the Gohstly hero, So I do back in the very first starting point in Crystal desert, he sais head east, after telling me about how he cam, failed and yadda yadda yadda. so i head east this is all after the mission sands of souls or what ever its called. and in Augury rock theres no one there to talk to about starting ANY of the ascention missions....
What do i do? where do i go? do i go further east?

Augury Rock is the center for Ascension, but you need to head out into the desert to three different outposts to complete the required missions before you can actually ascend. Follow the link here to go to the official guildwiki for more details. There are no quests to get you to the three outposts, so you just need to go out and find them. Once you get there, you can start the corresponding mission. The three missions you need to complete are: 1) Dunes of Despair (SW of Augury), 2) Thirsty River (very East and a bit South of Augury), 3) Elona Reach (North and a bit East of Augury). You can do them in any order. After those three missions are complete, you can then ascend at Augury Rock. Good Luck!

If you want a faster way to get to the missions outposts, you can buy a run of the Desert. Shouldn't be too hard to find a runner in Augury Rock.
Then, as mentioned, you can do the 3 missions in any order, before ascending.

Go into wiki again, check the location section. You'll see the three mission outpost you need to complete.

You can also check the wiki for the Augury Rock mission for tips and builds on how to beat your doppelganger, depending on your class.

You can speak to the priest(or whatever) in the center of Augury Rock. He'll transport you into the staging area for the Augury Rock and the three ghosts there will tell you more about the three prerequisite missions(Desert missions). But there are no markers to get you there, you'll have to explore for yourself or hire a desert run.
