"Equipment" pack - big let down, but additional space welcome

People who buy the 10/15 size bags and then can later get a 20 can give the 10/15 to another character.

so much wrong in one post without any right to compensate...

the equipments slots were implemented because people were running out of space, not because they were accidentally selling their equipment. if you're really having that much trouble looking at what you're selling before you sell it, just put all of your equipment behind an unsellable item like a book.

if your weapons shift to the front when you weapon switch it's because you're doing it wrong. here's a tip you don't seem to know: when equiping two-handed weapons equip an offhand anyway. that way all of your weapon slots will use the same number of items and you'll always have enough room to replace the weapons in the back of your inventory when switching instead of being forced to the front.

Remember there ain't many plucky things in the game like iris flowers to pick up for free. I think they just did the easy iris flowers to get people all into it an all and then the GRIND starts next week when you have to start bringing things that RARELY drop to the deepest darkest dankest far our places in the game where he'll be HIDING. Remember Anet has a WARPED sense of humor just look at the GRIND for that 20 slot storage bag.

Using a non-functional offhand to prevent switching to the front of your pack should not be required. It's just player work-around to compensate for the fact that the equipment pack does not actually act like an equipment pack AT ALL.

The fact that only equipment can go in it does not make any difference in the least, considering you could just re-arrange your items if you were running out of space.

If people simply wanted more storage space, then why not just give them more storage space instead of this "equipment pack" which acts like storage, anyway?

I think it's pretty obvious that A.net wanted to pull a fast one over the players and trick them into thinking that they had added additional functionability when they had just added more of the same (which again, is welcome, but it's interesting that people can be naive. )

The equipment pack was never intended to have anything to do with selling items to the merchant or how you swap them from equiped to non-equiped.

The pack was added for those people that had multiple sets of armor and collected weapons as extra storage. Then they added extra storage slots, for a price, on top of them.

Where did you read that it was for anything other than storage for weapons/armor?

I speak for myself, but yes the equipment packs are a big let down. Not the packs themselves, but the grind required to get a 15-20 slot one.

At first I wanted to buy some extra panes and sponsor Anet, but not anymore. Instead I reorganised the 15 mules on my main and second account. I'm sure there are enough players that bought or are buying the slots.

Only need one large pack for my main character so if it's possible to buy them from players in the future, I will buy one if I have enough recources ofcourse.

This thing combined with the hassle to get the free pane through NCsoft really left a sour taste in my mouth considering this 4th year aniversary and Anet.

That is exactly what I'm talking about. I've said it twice already, sheesh. The equipment packs are just normal packs with a meaningless restriction. There is actually no reason to keep your equipment in the equipment pack besides a forced organization. Which is stupid, since they could have just made them normal packs and let the player decide how to organize his items.

A.net tried to pass this restriction off as additional functionability. But that's not surprising, considering how often this is done in mmorpgs. That's all I've been saying.

There is no reason why the equipment pack should not switch weapons like a normal bag.

I do not carry extra armor around, my warrior takes +10 vs X shields and various weapons doing Earth, Fire, Lightning etc. damage around.
Up to now I kept them in the last bag behind the Chimeric Prism, so that I do not sell them by accident.

Now I have a special bag that is just good enough for 5 of them and manages to sort them to the front, to the loot for sale.


And why?
I do not know, I just heard that ANet has team of young and extremely talented artists and programmers. I just wonder that this always seems to imply that they RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO up the details and leave their customers with a sour aftertaste.

Reason why anet was able to make packs so big is because they were able to replace expensive customization data (customization takes about half of item data, fyi) with simple one bit flag for items in bag.

Try switching weapons again!

They now should be sorted correctly in the equipment pack.

I just tried it, it seems to be WORKING now.
