Idea for GWAMM title

I searched and didn't find a thread similar to this one.

I've seen a lot of people asking for an emote for the GWAMM title. And why not? It's a difficult title to obtain, with hours of grinding involved. We see people spamming zaishen emotes all day long, so why not something for GWAMM?

Well, I propose something different. Instead of having an emote for the GWAMM title, why not give players an option to display or hide a boss aura for their characters who have reached this title? I don't personally have the GWAMM title, and I don't really care to get it, but I think it would be interesting to see glowing characters running around towns and outposts. This will give players the chance to show off their title without using emotes that can irritate other players.

Give me your thoughts on this.

I find that to be similarly sufficient, if it can be toggled, but I don't believe this is so different/new/original of an idea to warrant a new thread.

That sounds interesting. It gives a PvE feel for a (generally) PvE title. /signed

I agree, it is a title with alot of grinding needed, and therefore something to be proud of and show off.

Any idiot can get gwamm, no offense. The reward for endless and useless hours of grinding is the long piece of text under your name because that's all you deserve for obtaining it. Gladiator and champion titles deserve emote/aura or w/e, not gwamm.

And how many people do that compared to paying for missions or runs? Glad and Champ are way more prestigious than any PvE title.

ON TOPIC: I think this would be a good idea for GWAMM.

I pretty much retired my assassin when he reached GWAMM and I will probably retire my rit when he gets there later this week (been waiting for the party ites to come back around) but I still login with them to trade and to hang out and I absolutely agree that an emote or a speical GWAMM skill would RAWK!

I will never agree that the Galdiator and Champion title are more prestigious than GWAMM because in the present incarnation of GW none of the titles (YES NONE) require anything more than time spent. The game is about grind and the way you choose to grind does determine which title you get , but in the end the big titles should ALL be rewarded with something special.

In the PvE GW world GWAMM is everything, just like in the PvP GW world glad/champ/etc is everything. I think this is a great idea. More people would look forward to getting the title and have a reason to start. /signed

Yeah, see, the only problem with that is that what I'm proposing isn't an emote. It's the ability to toggle a boss aura for characters who have achieved this title.

My bad, didn't read your post properly. It's because your idea isn't new, and has been suggested in some of these 'reward for 30 titles' threads.

I apologize.

PvP NPCs have those auras.

So as long as you can't show the area inside PvP areas, that's quite fine with me.

I had a similar thought about this, but rather then that "boss aura", I was thinking something more along the lines of some kind of sparkly thing, or something a bit better looking then a giant slice of red covering your character.

If not, then I propose that when a character gets gwamm, their name comes up gold rather then green in outposts. It's less distracting, but alerting to people in town.

I agree that an Aura set-up for GWAMM would be a good way to display it, when the title box is checked and there are the 30 titles achieved.

I wasn't aware he said anything about Commander. No titles deserve anything special anymore, to be honest, but Glad and Champ are both more difficult than GWAMM to get, at least at higher levels.

If there was a checkbox to it, I'd love a boss aura or perhaps a ghostly aura - players die enough times achieving it!

Grind is grind, no matter how you do it. Constantly fighting in PvP is grind. Constantly fighting NPC monsters with broken AI is grind. GWAMM isn't an easy title to obtain for anyone...unless they start out with a boatload of cash. Getting that cash requires grind or skill...because there's not one rare drop in the game any more that will fetch the price that will alone pay for all three consumable titles.

Regardless of peoples opinion of GWAMM, it is a high-end achievment, and the vast majority of high-end achievement in GW have a perk. With emotes being very PvP, I think a toggle-able boss aura (colour consistent with the players prof) is a sweet idea.

I want to glow, glow like the stars. To the stars we shall go, for we walk amongst you mortals. No more do you need us, we shall reside with the stars, in the Mists, in the Rift. To never be heard of again, like the blind fool. To the stars my brothers and sisters, the stars, so we can glow like them. I shall become a star, and burn those who look upon my shiny aura. To the darkness! Shine it all away! My aura will outshine your aura! For I am a God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals no more.

/notsigned , It just puts more in-game griefing. People who seem to throw around jealousy will throw accusations out, E.G: "eBayer!" "Look who stole their mother's credit card for e-peen!" "Looks like we got a bot on the loose!!" Adding another reason for people to be stupid really doesn't make the game better.

I can't remember the last time someone /ranked or flashed a maxed title and got any sort of attention, let alone accusations. It's just not that special anymore, and I'm pretty sure the warm glow of their aura will dull the pain of any naysayers.

Either way, I'm not really aiming for GWAMM, just playing the game off and on and earning points as they come. But I have to admit, even if it's just PVE- or outpost-only, a boss aura would be pretty sweet.

To make it mroe simple for the devs I think a very special suit of armor would be nice.
Full chaos or something less prone to give people seizures.
A set so awesomely pimped that people would faint when they see it.
Boss aura isnt a bad idea, but I find it quite meh.

I do like the idea of that armor suit, maybe some armor that is only available to people with 30 titles would make gaining the 30 titles more of a rewarding experience

Specifically love the idea of chaos armor or even something like a ghostly hero /rastigan the eternal armor suit would look awesome!

Please don't make it a ghostly hero suit, even if it keeps the same model. At least give us multiple prestige suits to wear so we're not stuck looking like every other ghost in the game.

I'd like just a basic aura, or an emote. Wings would be nice but they're kinda only really fitting to paragons.
There was another thread about specifically this where I suggested an Avatar form in-town for the god of your choice. That would be the easiest to implement.

Will the enemies get a 2% Morale Boost if I die in PvE? =O

I like the idea, though. While I disagree with GWAMM being an emote, a boss-aura is actually PvE-related.

New armor is actually MORE work for the devs, Linsey has said time and time again new armor and areas take lots of work and plenty of people to do. The OP's idea is actually more simple for devs, I think, as only the coders are needed.

I'm not sure if they could simply apply the boss aura to chars.
Depending on how the aura works, having a different one fo each class that work with all armor sets might be a royal pain in the ass to make.
