What's the point in ignoring someone if they can still message you in arenas?

The obvious solution is to turn off all forms of chat but why should i have to? I want to keep team chat open so i can see calls or use it to communicate with my team. I keep local chat open to greet friends on the opposite teams (lol) but seriously turning off chat and isolating myself kills my enjoyment of the game.

I don't know what it is about me but people, lots of them, like to stalk me after i ignore them. I'm flattered, honestly, but it's getting a little annoying. It's rediculous how far some people will go to flame me. Even after ignoring them for months they still persist to flame me everytime they meet me in arenas. It is essentially stalking. I could give countless screenshots of these people verbally abusing and spamming me in local/team chat in arenas but i know anet wouldn't do a thing because i chose to keep chat open.

Make /ignore work in arenas... I dont want to be stalked by kids/sad adults but at the same time i dont want to turn off chat and isolate myself just because of a few stupid people.

Sort it out. Anet shouldn't tolerate exploitation of the ignore function. Im sure others have had the same problems.

/sigh

in PvP-explorable areas they can still chat to you via local/team chat even IF you have them on ignore. very old-- been like this for ages.
